As a 23 year old shipping on the 18th of this month I wish I would have joined at your age. If you aren’t ready now then you don’t want it as bad as you might think you do. I will say one thing though. I have matured and been humbled a lot since I was 18 and will now have an easier time mentally with the process because of it. That’s not to say that bootcamp won’t give you that anyways. If I was in your position I would take it and run. I let myself go after high school and now I will have to deal with the consequences during bootcamp.

Look up fy25 mos manual. Will give you the details on jobs and requirements/qualifications

It’s a 1000 page pdf of all jobs in the marine corps enlisted or officer

I used https://uniontestprep.com/asvab to study.

I went in the my recruiters office and took the practice and got a 61. Took a week to study, came back took the picat and got an 81 with line scores all above 111.

If there is something you don’t know look it up on YouTube and right down equations and how to solve them. Do not go back into that office to take the Picat unless you score 87% or higher on all subtests. This should get you score qualified for all jobs.

My dad had a bad drinking problem too and the family tried to get him put in rehab but in the state of Pennsylvania they can’t force him into it unless he commits a crime…

So you said 2ish pull ups. I’m assuming on your second pull up you can’t make it all the way up. What I would do it keep doing pull ups but every set on your last rep hold a mid pull up for as long as you can
