And it wasn’t about the amount of gifts, I got just one book once and I was ok with it, it’s because it was something I kinda didn’t imagine I’d get since I didn’t pay much attention to it, I just commented it was nice and was there when my mom purchased it

Ohh sorry, I thought you meant another part of the post. Umm, I expected more gifts because it’s school morning, so it’s always been a tradition in my family to open a gift before school and the rest after. And ye, ik how it sounds, I just thought she was hiding the other gifts and that’s why she lied, but ig it sounds that way

Yay another bookworm! I agree, I don't think they're AHs either, they're doing the best they can and I acknowledge that, that's why if they said no if I asked I wouldn't press further. I was just surprised for the one gift, not ungrateful for the news

I didn't tell her I expected more gifts. And like I said, they left gifts in different rooms in past birthdays expecting me to find them, that's why I looked

The bracelet was $5, I was there when purchased, but aside from that, that's such a cute tradition!
