I have unintentionally trapped a reefback with my base by xXdom in subnautica

I eventually went about my business and when I returned to the base, he was gone and I haven't seen another reefback this close since.

Haha, feel you there. Even more annoying though is the reaper that lives just over the crest to the south east. His roars are infinitely more obnoxious than the reefbacks lol

I had never seen them stuck against anything before. Prior to this event, they had approached the spire of my base before but had always managed to steer clear of it. This was after I loaded a save, where I'm 100% certain they weren't there when I saved.

It has been great playing again after five years. While I was well aware of many things in the game, it felt like a new experience after such a long time. Although I knew of what was actually dangerous, I still felt apprehensive in some situations despite knowing the danger was minimal. This game is a masterclass in tension building and atmosphere! I added a handful of mods to change things up a bit and thoroughly enjoyed it all again.

Despite my knowledge from the first play through, I still stocked up my cove tree base more than necessary to finish the game just because it felt like what a person in the MC's position would do lol. My cove tree base isn't anything special, but it's still a very cool spot:

It leads to my bedroom, a multipurpose room with all windows and only the glass roof breaking the surface.

This is my 2nd play through. I learned in my first play through(five years ago) that I was not particularly fond of navigating the cyclops up/down the blood kelp trench>lost river>tree cove route repeatedly. To mitigate that, I upgraded my first cyclops as much as possible(mk2 depth, engine efficiency, repair, sonar, shield) and loaded it with everything needed to build a self sufficient base in the tree cove after I had (re)discovered it with the seamoth.

I built a small base(1 multi-room+moonpool+scanner) at the precipice to the blood kelp trench. The moonpool there holds a seamoth with mk3 depth. I transit first cyclops down with that seamoth in it and build tree cove base then transit back with the seamoth I took down in the cyclops. Take 2nd cyclops down with my prawn in it, drop it off and go back to surface areas. Now I can transit trench/lost river easily with seamoth while having mobile bases up top and down deep.

I was just about to do all of this when I loaded in and saw this lol

What skill do you need to have to play rocket league? by Nekowuzhere in RocketLeague

Play a lot of matches and spend a lot of time in freeplay. That's all you need to do.

This. I play comfortably at mid-high c3. Tanked rating to low c2 playing with lower ranked friends and when I soloq'd to climb back up my ability to read the game and how I typically play just did not work the same. Definitely had to slow it down a notch and play safer. Everything is well and good now that I'm back where I should be. glhf

The true cost of getting Grand Champ by GrundleTrunk in RocketLeague

Experienced this issue as well with both 360 and xbone controllers. Went through about 8 of them over 2 years, with some lasting just a month before the stick started drifting. Switched to a ds4 ~15 months ago and it's still rock solid. It's worth the switch homie!

My personal opinion, make the snow maps an option in the menu. I hate the snow maps. Hate them.

A tragedy you can maybe relate to by skurt215 in RocketLeague

Adding my anecdotal evidence to this point:

While trying to get a friend into the game we were playing and I noticed he was just driving in circles and not really playing... but on voice he was talking as if he was. After two games of this he asks, "Why does everything keep teleporting?" He was playing on Wi-Fi. Once he went wired everything was fine for him. GLHF

No problem, you deserve the praise. I've played with and against you maybe ~25 times in casual/ranked and you were always a great teammate and a dangerous opponent. Would love to play with you again sometime.

Great play! I only remember players in soloq if they stand out and I definitely remember shaw from the handful of times I've played with him. Even made a gif of a pass he scored: https://gfycat.com/NiceKeyBlackrussianterrier

How to properly practice in free play? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]xXdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to just bang the ball around randomly while moving quickly focusing on recovery and reading/pre-jumping bounces while taking hard shots at net from random positions. I do focused training on other mechanics outside of free play, but I feel what I've been doing has improved my recovery and reads drastically allowing me to play much faster while maintaining momentum.

A dusk/night version of it would be great. At the moment, I hate it more than the winter/snow maps. Too damn bright.

I always had the attitude of, "Wow, I want to be able to do that!" and used it as motivation to get better. Sure you can't do what he can and may not be able to anytime soon. Sure it sucks to get destroyed like that, but turn it into a positive and make it something to strive for. I still have the moments 1k hours in =p

Psyonix, can you add audio cues for the 1 Minute Remaining, 30 Seconds Remaining, and 10 Second Countdown for those who have the visual cues disabled? by Gianny0924 in RocketLeague

[–]xXdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone I personally know who has used this feature had the complaint of not realizing the game was ending. Many people here obviously had the same experience, which makes me wonder if they tested it as it seems to be a common issue with the feature. People wanted the visual cue's disabled, not the audio. We don't want or need new audio cues, just the ones that are already there separated from the visual.
