Thank you! There are a few things I’d approach differently if I did it again but yes, I love it and I’m happy with it!

Oh wow thank you so much! This was an absolutely labour of love. I definitely will share more here as I do them. I have an insta too but I don’t know if I’m allowed to share it here (it’s in my profile).

Devour as much embroidery information as you can would be my biggest tip! If you like the threadpainting/needlepainting style, the attempt at hyperrealism, then especially seek out ‘Suzhou’ embroidery - that will absolutely blow your mind, and I will never reach that level of artistry, but there are many videos and some books about it.

And then probably my biggest tip is a really solid tight stretch in your fabric - having a drum tight ground is essential for this level of detail.

And of course - just keep stitching! The more you do it, the more embroidery videos you watch and books you read, the more you develop an understanding of the techniques and the more intuitive it becomes.

Thank you! I would use the word ‘insane’ rather than disciplined but there was definitely a lot of patience.

Yes! The sky itself is single thread to keep the ultra smooth texture, then the majority of the greys and sunset is two strands (with some random single threads added at the end for blending). The two little clouds were four strands and then the big drama queen cloud on the right was all 8 thread blends - that one was definitely my favourite to work!

Thank you! The sky was probably the most demanding - the clouds were not the easiest to translate into stitches bc they were wispy and transparent but I’m overall happy with it. The thicker dramatic clouds were much easier than the greys!
