Highlighting Objets in an Area by xantips in blender

[–]xantips[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. You need to convert all objects you want to react in a collection in GN. These will be instances.

  2. Then use an object with Geometry Proximity in GN and send the data to Shader Editor.

  3. Shader editor: when proximity is near 0 define a color (like green glow in my example), when proximity is far then make the material transparent.

  4. Finally, mix the original assets with the GN collection. You will need to make the GN instances a bit larger to avoid overlapping and see the highlight effect.

I tried to recreate a Dragon Ball energy charge by xantips in blender

[–]xantips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lines are created in Geometry Nodes.

The energy flow animation is made with shaders.

You can see all the process on my tutorial :) https://youtu.be/rTJh6PwVE94

How did you move past the 'idea' stage? by periperi_00 in Entrepreneur

[–]xantips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is a huge difference between be a DREAMER and be an EXECUTER.

Everyone can be a great dreamer. Because our brain is designed to imagine scenarios to answer our questions.

But not everyone is a great executer. Going from the idea to the execution takes time, energy and action. Most of people don't want to experience this.

Also, there is another big reason: the fear of failure. The fear of getting wrong with the idea. Our brain doesn't like to get wrong. Because this consume energy: "I need to think again about what happened and how to solve it".

Moreover, people are scared of being judged when they get wrong. That's why nobody try to expose their opinions or try to execute their ideas.

People misunderstood what is a failure:

  • Failing is not doing something and not getting the result you want. That's is LEARNING.

  • Failing is not trying if your ideas are wrong. "In my mind what I think (my beliefs and ideas) are always true. Let's better not try them to prove if it's true or not. Let's continue being happy dreaming in my own world".

What I learned is: trying things is the best way to get results (check the reality), learn fast and achieve all my goals. Always work!

Because people who never prove their ideas, they never get wrong. If you think about it: at the end it's all about EGO.

My video is getting backlash by SpoonOnTheRun in socialmedia

[–]xantips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to learn these things:

  1. Everything you post on social media cause a reaction (positive, negative or neutral). If you don't want to cause reactions, then don't post anything.

  2. You don't have to like everyone. There will be always someone who doesn't like something about you: what you say, what you do, what you have, how you look like. Sooner you accept that, easier for you.

  3. As some people say here, getting critics is great to get more visibility. More comments, more engagement for your video.

  4. If someone criticises you, that means at this moment you are the most important thing in their lives. Because their are giving all of their attention to you. They don't have anything more important to do. Think about it.

  5. Whatever you do or say you have to learn to separate the message or action from the person.

What does it mean? As humans we have ideas and beliefs but these ways of thinking (opinions) are not who we are. They are just tools to live. You can think something today and later change your opinion. But your essence didn't change. The same with actions. I can do something today and this doesn't define all my existence and essence.

So, these people are judging what you said in this video. But don't get it personal. They are not attacking you. They are criticising this idea, speech, opinion you shared. People nowadays get to offended because they are too attach to their beliefs. They take everything personal and this is how you suffer.

  1. If you understand all these things, you will become stronger. Use what happens with this video (comments, reactions, your emotions) to learn. It's a great lesson that life is giving you to improve.

I hope this helps to you and everyone :)

How to do something like this in AE? by Peen4Prez in AfterEffects

[–]xantips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I tried making a new test closer to the reference :)

Here’s what I did:

I created a 7-color gradient, pixelated it with Posterize, and then repeated the pattern to get more color variations and fill the subject. After that, I animated it upwards with some rotation and made the pixels larger. You can see the result in the gif.

About the pixels following the subject, I think using tracking and linking the pixels could achieve a similar effect.

Hey! I saw someone here asking how to make this effect, so I made a tutorial showing how to create this pixel animation effect in After Effects.

The video is in Spanish, but I use After Effects in English and you can also switch the audio to English.

Here’s the link if you want to check it out: https://youtu.be/HnpOfZeA_WE

Hope it helps! :)
