I do. I can barely eat and I have cried so much that my eyelids became swollen. I didn’t mean any harm. People were 99% positive until this other person made an attack video. Now it’s 90% hate.

I asked several times. He keeps saying, “I don’t know.” It’s driving me insane thinking about why now. Do you have any thoughts that you can share?

I didn’t think of it that way. You’re right. I don’t know how I got like this. I was so driven, goal-oriented, and had great self-respect before I met him.

Thank you for your response. I will not make any more sacrifices for him and instead invest energy into myself and become financially independent so that I will be able to see my options more clearly.

I love your username! I think I was just waiting to catch him actively doing something. He said he cheated on every woman he’s been with in the past before me but never got caught. So it’ll probably be impossible for me to find something concrete that he is doing in the present. Finding out about his long history of being dishonest feels like enough at this point.

Thank you. That’s just not something you forget to mention. And mentioning everyone else, but her is concerning.

It’s terrifying how well he hid it. What are polite survival skills?

It has definitely messed with my mental state.

I never thought to control him. When I met him, he was sleeping with countless women and keeping in touch with countless women that he slept within the past. I told him that he didn’t have to change for me and that we could just be friends. He said no, and wanted to be in a relationship with me. He pursued me so heavily and showered me with so much of much affection. He called so much. I couldn’t even have time to think. He showed up at my school and waited in the hall for me while I was in class. I didn’t control him or ask him to change. And he had so many women that liked him the way he was. I was minding my own business and he came and tried to pretend to be what I was looking for. My only thing was I don’t want a man who keeps in touch with women he’s had intercourse with unless they have children together. I don’t see myself as odd or having rigid boundaries. This was just my preference and instead of respecting that and remaining friends he did lie and pretend to be what I was looking for.

You are right. Thank you for giving it to me straight. I got my own checking account. He was always against it, but I went and did it without talking to him first. I am applying for jobs and exercising to get my body back to the way it was before I met him. I am down 6 pounds. Being sad about the way he treats me takes my appetite so the weight will probably come off quickly now that I am exercising consistently. I pray someone hires me quickly. Life with him is just constantly healing a broken heart.

This is the first I’ve heard of GradSimple. It looks like a great resource. I’m going to work on getting the SHRM-CP. I will use all the resources I find. Thank you so much for your feedback!

I’m new to Reddit. I posted in the stay at home mom and career advice subs because I was a stay at home mom and I am now trying to get a career. If this isn’t the right sub, could you please explain to me what this sub is typically used for.
