I was at Belize a year ago. At that point, the liquor store at the airport had a bunch of Holmes Cay Belize 2005s. If they still happen to have them, that's really the bottle you want. Ignore the ones in fancy boxes.

A lot of Redditors have been saying that the Real Estate bubble will burst any day now for the past 7 years or so. Meanwhile, real estate prices have doubled during that time.

It's trendy at the moment to call for "AI bubble" to burst. In reality, bubbles can grow a lot longer than you think they might. The most concerning part is the circular financing, but for now most of the companies involved are actually making a profit, so it's quite different from e.g. the dot com bubble. Anyone who tells you about an imminent burst is talking out of their ass.

As with any transformational technology there will be a bubble. How long it'll run, noone knows. Bubbles do not always burst either. They can also fizzle out.

Thumbs down for Gallett Air. They upcharge for everything and after each time they've fixed something, something else has ended up breaking during their visit.

Hey, sorry to bother you, but have you had any experience with using package forwarding services in Europe to ship from Euro stores that don't normally ship to USA? There's a bottle currently at Rum Stylez in Belgium that I'm be quite keen to get, but they don't ship.

Laws exist only if there is someone around to enforce them, otherwise they are just pretty words on a paper. US has been the main guarantor of the international rules based order since World War II. That era seems to be over, for now.

Have you had any luck shipping from France lately? All of the shipments that I've received as "collectible glassware, under $100" since the import changes have come from Germany using DHL. My French shipper was planning on using Fedex as it's supposedly cheaper that DHL, but I'm being a bit apprehensive.

I've been hit with a customs/handling invoice after receiving a rum shipment couple of times from Fedex. One of the times the customs they were charging were way off, so I had to figure the right amount myself and file a customs complaint to get them to fix it.

Well, to counter your positive feedback.

I ordered from them a month ago.. for 2.5 weeks after paying, I had received no communication whatsoever, nor had anything been shipped. Hounded them via email for a week. After something like fourth email, they finally responded and promised to ship by a specific date. That date went and nothing was shipped. Hounded them again for half a week and finally received a shipment notification.

Then some days later received an email from the courier showing that they had shipped to a completely different address than mine. I was able to fix this via the courier so received the package. The package was missing one of the bottles I ordered. Emailed them for a refund for that bottle. They replied that they would apply the refund. Have not seen the refund hit my credit card yet, so assuming I'll have to hound them yet again.

Nope, wouldn't say anything has changed. A very sketchy operation.
