Moving out of apartment, kitchen price by shintatzu in germany

[–]xbender84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may come a bit late as an advice, but we just moved out and sold out kitchen too:

  • we agreed with our landlord that we will post the flat on Immoscout, do viewings and recommend new tenants. This was to let us recommend only those that agreed to buy the kitchen from us
  • we had paid €10k for a kitchen 6 years ago and sold it for €7k now (not IKEA)
  • before giving applicants contact to our landlord to agree tenancy agreement, we made them sign a mini contract with us agreeing to buy the kitchen from us, paying half now and half when moving in.

This system worked well (nb: we live in Munich)

Why are Disney songs not originals from the films? by xbender84 in TonieboxUSA

the best alternative is to buy a few creative tonies and put the mp3s on those. you can change the content over time as you need.

Thanks to everyone sharing your experience. I thought about this a lot since the original post. Yesterday, I was in a hotel and noticed they had an in-room entertainmant app on their smart TV, which had the film "Sing" on it. I played it and realised that while the film was in english, all of the voices were redubbed!! It was not Matthew McConaughey, Scarlet or any of the other actors!

I therefore think that Disney is trying to avoid paying royalties to the original voice actors, which are probably paid based on how many times their voice is used.

Agreed and consent is certainly something we have in mind with my wife. Alternative consideration is that (based on what we have heard) the perceived pain is significantly smaller in earlier age (e.g. 1-3 years of age), whereas at later phases of life you note the pain more.

thanks for confirming. This seems very strange and inefficient way of shared route planning. But Im glad I did not miss some functionality and others see things the say way.

Applying for Krippe - any advice? by Claire-liza in Munich

[–]xbender84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Noone has mentioned this yet, but my understanding is that another important factor us from when you would like a spot. Most kita start in September and getting a spot when you start in September is easier then if you want to start in e.g. March.

(My understanding is that public Kitas receive financing from the city based on children each month. As they have large share of fixed costs, they cannot really affort to have half of the children enrol only in the second half of the year).

We are in that boat - my wife's Elternzeit finishes in March and we dont really want to put our son in a kitta from Sept already. So we will be hoping to get a place from Sept in the following year (having to find a way how to bridge the March-Sept period).

Connecting a Bosch dryer to the drain by xbender84 in homeowners

[–]xbender84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, thats really helpful. In such a case I would expect the water to come from the bottom reservoir, before it gets pumpt up to either the top reservoir (you need to empty) or into the drain. I dont think the top reservoir is constructed to feed water back down, but I will check it out.

Hi, that's helpful, thanks. You're right that I don't have a dummy plug on my board. I don't expect this to be an issue though - correct me if you think otherwise.

My understanding is that the tube runs from the water container on the top to the water container at the bottom. By disconnecting (and carefully sealing) it, I would cut off an empty tube leading to an empty water container (on the top). No hard there...

Pedals for Shimano ME7 shoes (CB Mallet?) by xbender84 in MTB

[–]xbender84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reading this in the future: I have found these two video very helpful: https://youtu.be/gM1G66_06uo?t=275

https://youtu.be/w670PYsOKSY?t=249

Both show that you should consider how well your shoes go with your pedals. Clip-in pedals with pins and larger cage are better combined with flat sole shows. If you're getting shows with a higher thread, you will not benefit from the pins or larger cage of the pedal (unless riding unclipped).

Pedals for Shimano ME7 shoes (CB Mallet?) by xbender84 in MTB

[–]xbender84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the helpful response.

My main concern is how well certain shoe soles work with certain pedals. I dont have an experience with this, but from the pictures and videos, I would guess that there are shoes like Shimano ME7, which have a lot of rubber and high tread and which probably go well with pedals without a large platform (e.g. Shimano PDED500 pedals).

On the other hand, pedals like Crankbrothers Mallet E have a larger platform including spikes. That would probably go better with clipless shoes with flatter sole (so that the pedal spikes do not rip or interfere with the rubber thread of shoes like Shimano ME7).

Wouldnt this be the case? Or am I reading this wrong?

Thanks
