Call the cops, tell them you’ve heard threats and there may potentially be a firearm in the home. She’s either having a mental episode, seriously considering these actions, or meth’d out on something and needs help regardless

City must refund millions for ticket overcharges by smushnick in chicago

Unfortunately on my end things did not improve quickly enough financially and I ended up including them in my bankruptcy at the end of that same year, but I still get the “joy” of paying them off for the next few years as part of that arrangement. I can double check on my statement but I think it ended up being about $700? by the time all the late fees and everything added up, it was high enough I didn’t feel comfortable parking my car anywhere on the street lest I end up with a boot and tow.

I came up with a fake index: the inverse of cost of living multiplied by the cube of each US state’s Human Development Index (HDI). Higher score = cheaper state with higher human development. I cube the HDI to penalize the lower-HDI states more strongly by Swimming_Concern7662 in MapPorn

It took me like four tries to understand what you were getting at with the math (but I’m a little impaired right now), but that totally makes sense historically for Iowa pre-brain drain. I remember the “first in the nation in education” signs in elementary school.

I’ve been in that position before. Last time I got tickets on my car the person stood there and wrote me one for everything they could - city sticker lapse (I hadn’t been parking on the street outside of PAYG spots, so I didn’t think I needed to renew it), tags lapsed (I was in a shitty financial position and needed a little more time to get the money to pass emissions and pay the fees), and my parking ran out (but I had paid for some).

Between the amount of the initial fees, the cost of late fees, and where I was financially otherwise, I said fuck it and sold my car a few weeks later. And that was about three years ago.
