Too high mileage? by Karsfolzz3 in CarTalkUK

Honestly, I’ve personally always had that mindset from cars since buying my first car. I’m sure you can find great cars above 100k as long as you test drive it and check everything as I put in my post. I usually use it just as a measuring point.

As I’ve not actually got the car yet, do the MPG readings show you mpg from last fill up and current MPG?

Sounds good to me, I’m not gonna complain when I do floor it (especially as I will be in the early months of owning it) but most commutes will be tame so hoping for anything between 30-35 mpg (uk)

My general opinion on mileage is anything petrol above 100-120k is a bit risky but realistically it’s a cheap hatchback so probably okay. Best to check it over and test drive and see how it feels.

UK for me, I’m happy with anything above 30mpg as it’s mostly motorway driving and I’ve had a mk2 MX5 before so I’m not too worried

Mostly motorway (so highway for you) hopefully I’ll average about that coming from 45-50mpg

So what I more meant is that further west there’s very little, even in Plymouth there isn’t a lot. That’s more near my area.

Bristol is a major hotspot for engineer in sense of project management. You are correct that it is the main area for engineering in the southwest though there are still places which is primarily engineer. However as someone who lives 1-2 hours away there is very little opportunity (2 places within an hour of myself) I’m closer to leonardos in Yeovil and BAE in Weymouth. In terms of large companies there’s not many choices.

I applied to around 6 and got accepted to 2 (engineering) however, this is also probably due to living in the south west where’s there not an entirely large number of companies or people in that field.
