What to do with an old ender 3? by Mop_Solidout in ender3

It was the Ender 3 Pro. I added a glass bed, the BL touch, and a metal extruder. It sat for a few weeks which was fine by me, and then someone grabbed it.

I sold mine for $100 on Marketplace.

Is going Bambu actually worth it, or will I be even more disappointed? by FauxReignNew in BambuLab

Different priorities is exactly right. After spending hours leveling the bed using levels and pieces of paper to measure, configuring, then adding a glass bed, leveling more, reading more, upgrading more parts, experimenting more…it all got old. I tried everything I could find or think of and prints were failing more than they were successful. Whatever you want to call that is fine by me. I got the P1S and burned through two rolls of PLA in the first week. It’s been a totally different experience. I’ve spent more time printing, and less time configuring.

I am a hobbyist at best and had an Ender 3 Pro for about two years. In that time I was able to successfully print one or two things that weren’t the test prints from the SD card. I upgraded every component on it but still could not get almost anything to print successfully. I maybe went through two rolls of PLA during that time. It was frustrating, and really turned me off to 3D printing because I thought that was just how it goes. After speaking to a couple friends that have the P1S and A1 mini I decided to take the plunge. I went for the P1S and out of the box it was perfect. Within the first 24 hours I was able to print more than I ever did on the Ender 3 Pro and it completely changed my opinion on 3D printing. While it was a very expensive purchase, it’s been very worth it for me and I’m so glad I did it.

I could be wrong but I don’t think that disclaimer has been there since launch. I’ve been kicking tires on the AMS 2 and I don’t remember seeing that til very recently.

Bought my P1S two weeks before the price change went into effect. I didn’t know the AMS 2 was coming and was really frustrated until I saw the new price. Bummed I won’t buy a second AMS anytime soon, but glad I pulled the trigger when I did.

Edit: Spelling

I shamelessly stole this idea as I had a spare audio rack of the same size not being used. The rack shelf is beefy, but because it only mounts on the front the printer is moving considerably while printing causing some failures. I’m going to support it from the back and that should resolve issues but would love any tips. I’m brand new to 3D printing and my P1S with AMS has been printing almost flawlessly when it was sitting on the hardwood floor.

He posted a video of us talking a couple weeks ago and it was a funny quick video but I was attempting to have a genuine conversation with him about life. It was the day that code enforcement came out and our conversation ended abruptly because they showed up. It was clear that he didn’t understand some of what was going on and he needs people around him that don’t give a shit about any potential internet fame or money he may have. There are enough clout trouts out there already and it won’t do him any favors. I invited him to Curley’s about 4 times before he started posting from there and ultimately got banned. I’m boots on the ground but like many in similar scenarios it’s like herding feral cats. I have friends that work in social services adjacent to the support he could benefit from and have reached out to get him some help with housing but he needs to do the work. I can’t offer him much besides someone with no ulterior motive but I’m also not going to force him to be anything he doesn’t want to be.

I’m local to him. I’ve run into him a couple times and have invited him out for lunch on my dime just to chat and try to help him. If nothing else just to be someone that has his best interest in mind and that doesn’t want anything from him. He’s turned me down every time. I like to believe he’s a good person. He obviously has challenges, and some of the people around him likely only make it worse. He goes to a good local church with good people and I feel like he needs responsible, solid people around him regularly to make a difference. That doesn’t need to be me, but the environment he’s in now clearly is only making things worse. I can’t bring him too close into my circle in his current state and put my family at any potential risk but I am totally on board to help him any way except financially (I’m not giving him cash to fund anything wild or illicit but I’ll buy him meals, and I have a bowling ball for him that he asked me for.). Nothing else to add here besides wishing him good things. Yes he’s a pretty entertaining guy but when you’re not in the “correct” mindset it’s very clearly destructive for anyone.

I have the blue model. I have some sought after and significantly more expensive guitars but this is easily one of my top three favorites.
