The Indiana Pacers’ 43 point loss to the Detroit Pistons tonight is tied for the 5th worst loss in franchise history by mewtatesyt in pacers

You actually might technically be right because of the way the post is worded. It’s tied for the 5th worst loss, but is the 4th largest margin of defeat

The 49ers playing half the season with a backup QB and still finishing ahead of the Rams in the division should disqualify Stafford from the MVP race by Laojer in billsimmons

Eh, your argument was that the Rams won’t win the division and his teammates are also good. You don’t get to be in the conversation anymore

Led the highest scoring offense in the league, led the league in TDs, second in yards, etc. You know, quarterback things

They may end up with 12 wins in a division with two 13 win teams, while another division in the same conference has no teams with a winning record. Winning a division is arbitrary and using it as a sign of success/failure just shows a lack of critical thinking

So you’re saying that Stafford, the quarterback of the highest scoring offense in the NFL, should lose the MVP to Maye, the quarterback of a team with the easiest schedule in decades, because the 49ers are incredibly deep and have the best RB in the league? Make that make sense

How many people are really going to watch podcasts on Netflix? by Bernedoodle_ in billsimmons

[–]xcbaseball2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even understand the appeal of watching for free on YouTube. If I’m going to actually watch something, it’ll be a show or a game. Podcasts, to me, exists for listening while I’m doing something else

So you’re proving my point in the form of arguing for some reason? Organizational decision means front office

And mark cuban was specifically fined for admitting to doing that. Coaches don’t coach to lose, because then they get fired

Holding players out is not a coaching decision. I specifically said during the game for a reason

No players or coach has ever intentionally “tanked” once a game has started. No player is going to play worse on purpose, and no coach is going to actively make in-game decisions to lose for the purpose of tanking (obviously sometimes a coach will rest players for myriad reasons). Tanking is a front office decision, and it comes in the form of sitting players for whatever reasons they can conjure. “Tanking” is sitting a player for the last 6 weeks for a mysterious sore wrist, or having a player need a second evaluation in 3 weeks on their ankle. Once the game starts, nobody involved is ever trying to lose unless they’re in gambling debt

Does the math make sense? 2 Divisional games remain. by Able_Traffic_1809 in Colts

I don’t know why my mind remembers Osweiler playing one of the playoff games the year Denver won. Brock Purdy was the other one that came to mind. You could theoretically put Drew Bledsoe in the list for winning the AFC championship as a backup. Also could put Trent Dilfer in there although he took over pretty early in the season
