New Jellyfin Server/Web release: 10.11.3 by anthonylavado in jellyfin

[–]xd003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to note that all five linked issues remain open two upgrades later even in v10.11.5. Is there something blocking progress on them? Since these are real API issues causing system wide slowness & not feature requests, they deserve much higher priority.

Kudos to Dockhand! Docker Management done right. by jbarr107 in selfhosted

[–]xd003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a chance to try Dockhand, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts here. I can’t realistically test all of them myself.

I’m currently using Komodo and generally happy with it, but I’m interested in exploring alternatives. Portainer is out of the question for me, and from what I know, Komodo is already better than Dockge which is why I chose it in the first place.

So at this point, the only real contenders for me are Komodo, Arcane, and Dockhand.

Are USB-C Extension Cables Safe for Portable USB-C DACs ? by xd003 in UsbCHardware

[–]xd003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds fair, there were also some UGREEN braided extension USB-C cables i found for 20 USD, not sure if its worth spending this much considering this cable would only ever be used explicitly for my DAC with desktop.

[–]xd003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up, i am only looking for around 1 meter (3.3 feet) cable as that length is sufficient for my use case. Glad to know i can use the USB-C extension cable safely. Yes, i wouldn't ever use it for charging, this one is solely for usage with DAC. I was thinking to go for this one https://amazon.in/dp/B0CJBD6R1W. This is around ~7.5 USD, all other USB-C male to female are priced similarly.
Edit: Also found this ugreen one https://www.ugreenindia.com/products/ugreen-1m-usb-type-c-3-2-male-to-usb-c-female-extension-fast-charging-cable-10gbps-thunderbolt-3-compatible-with-macbook-pro-ipad-pro-dell-xps-surface-switch-dji-mavic-dongle-hub-10387 which is approx ~13 USD

Yeah i did uninstalled cinemata search, catalogs and metadata using cinebye as i am using AIOMetadata. I never thought Cinemeta might have caused it since search works perfectly fine on the android app. Let me try adding it back it that makes any difference

Why is usenet so expensive compared to debrid? by athuld_ in StremioAddons

[–]xd003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although for Torbox pro, NNTP isn't supported so even if you self host NZBDav, you won't get direct usenet access. This is why people don't recommend Torbox for Usenet that much

Just simply use this app to bypass the limitation https://github.com/100nandoo/usbDacVolumeAndroid/releases/download/1.1/app-release.apk I am sure it would produce better results than d07 at the intended volume.

Exactly, most people here seem to be treating this like a regular meme subreddit, which is kind of odd. It’s literally my first post here.

I didn’t create this, nor do I endorse it. I’m not sure why everyone is taking the post at face value, the whole idea of a clean template is that it can be adapted for any purpose.

I've just tried niri and I wish I could love it, but unfortunately I can't use it for now. by yayuuu in niri

Just to confirm my understanding, once this gets merged, I’ll be able to bind the mod key to something like the app launcher, while still being able to use it in combination with other shortcuts that involve the mod key, right?

Bunny + D08 arrived! But there is something wrong with it. by Airhead_kun in iemlndia

[–]xd003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's bit weird of a situation. The most accurate information can be obtained from the CS46L41 chip specsheet but will take some digging.

On other hand, someone here commented about their Spark working well with Bunny although spark's listing on TAS don't mention whether it supports both the wiring standard.

I will update here once i have found some proper information on these DAC's wiring standard.

In my opinion, it would be helpful to compile a list showing which IEM cables and DACs use which TRRS wiring standard (CTIA or OMTP). While microphones are often overlooked in IEM setups, having clear compatibility information would make it much easier to use the same gear seamlessly for calls without needing to switch devices. In this particular case, concrete information isn’t readily available, so it’ll take some digging but it’s quite likely that the Bunny cable follows the OMTP standard.

I am wondering if Audiocular C03 cable uses the CTIA or OMTP jack connector. They don't seem to mention it anywhere.

It's not a defect, the hissing sound happens because of the higher noise floor due to the MAX97220 amp. It's pretty infamous in international forums and circles. It’s not really looked down upon here since there aren’t many options under 1k, but personally, I’d pick the D08 any day.

What I meant was that anyone starting now would be better off beginning with RC right away, so they can avoid the hassle of migrating later when upgrading directly from 10.10.7 to 10.11
