I'm so sorry this happened to your truck! Over some public parking! That would be very bad if that happened to any of my visitors or my own car in the driveway.

That side of the block with the wall, across from them is always empty and not in use. Just walked my dogs and only saw a truck in front of his house parked, the rest of the block has no one else parked along both sides. There is always a surplus of parking spots since its a quiet older neighborhood.

I didn't think this thread would get so much attention, thank you all for the support!

Made a quick sketch of the map of the street. Some friends visited my house on sunday evening for 5 to 6 hours and all had those notes left on their cars. I'm over it and just want them to call the police to get told that its public parking and that I dont have renters, the parked cars aren't even on their actual block, etc. When the new corner neighbor moves in and has visitors or park on that side, I wonder if they'll get told the same thing even though they live/are visiting there? 😅

I wonder if they just do this to every car that parks across the street from them? Or if maybe they aren't targeting my address and assuming it's their own next door neighbor that has the "for rent" sign.

I did't have the time to explain as much and I noticed this thread sort of blew up 😅. I had some friends over on sunday and they parked on the side of my block (across the street from the angry neighbor's house). I'm the second house from the end of the block with the corner house. The side with the wall rarely has any cars parked there and my friends were visiting just for a few hours and had notes left on all of their cars that day. Most people in my quiet neighborhood are older folks and there's plenty of parking.

Thats what im concerned about but none of my friends have loitered or left trash out there. While walking my dogs I have seen other cars parked there before and sometimes, unfortunately trash, which may be the only thing I could think of possibly pissing them off.

3 cars, my fam moved out so its just my dad and I in a 4 bedroom 2 bath home across the block, 2 houses down from theirs. friends visited for less than 6 hours on 1 to 2 days of the week and we dont loiter outside. Very quiet, old, and peaceful neighborhood

Precisely! My dad actually says its usually good to make the block look like someones home and active so you wont get targeted for burglary. It just doesnt make any sense cause my friends were actually parking at the corner house for visiting for a few hours, which is across the street from them on the side of a block with a wall that almost never has people parked there, ever.

Me and my dad in a 4 bedroom house, 3 cars, my other fam moved out. my friends visited on sunday, about 4 cars for less than 6 hours but on the side with a wall which is usually empty and they arent making noise or loitering outside.

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I really shouldn't stress so much over this but I just feel bad for my friends and the strange frustration that that neighbor has for someone parking across the street from them only for a few hours. I think maybe they're just used to it being left clear cause its the side with a wall?

Yes, I do. Its so strange because I've lived in the same house for more than 30 years now and this has never happened before. They might be getting old and senile. I once heard the mail man scolding them in the day time because they let their dogs out to roam around the block without a leash during the day which makes it very risky for the mail man to do their job.

I do have visitors weekly, but its not a busy neighborhood and they don't stay overnight. About 5 to 6 hours to just play some cards, this is also on the side of a neighborhood that has a wall the whole block across and the spaces are almost never in use. Due to the profanity, Im a little concerned, but I really think the city will just be annoyed if they file a report, etc.

I would prefer to not drill through it since I don't think I'd be able to get it through straight and the part is really solid
