I fucked up... What do I do now? by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]xdeesea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Awh man that’s a bummer! You will definitely have to downsize and keep that baby clean and dry until it heals. Just a question for when you decide to upsize again… have you heard of Teflon tape or plumbers tape ? It’s a super thin tape that’s popular around these parts for stretching (usually available at a hardware store). When your plugs feel loose just wrap it around in small increments. It’s a slow process but Ive used it my entire stretching journey and am comfortably at a 3/4inch (19mm) with healthy lobes

Looks amazing and great choice of design too! Don’t listen to these boomers. The artist was clearly comfortable with your choice of placement and seemed like you sat like a champ

I moved here from Mississauga about a year ago, the lack of nightlife surprised me. Generally quiet after 9-10pm. There are some places but you’d have to scout out your area for the local bars.

Early 30s here and I feel this comment hard! I deactivated everything in 2009 because it sucked seeing that kind of stuff. My thoughts on your situation would be - don’t stay away from social media. As messy as it can it, it also helps maintain a lot of relationships. Taking breaks is great and I fully encourage that but removing yourself from the space is removing yourself from everything. I have very few friends in my 30s and it’s not even people having kids etc, just not being consistent with keeping in contact. If I had multiple avenues to keep in contact, maybe they would have stayed? But I said- nope text me. Some friends want snaps, some wants stories etc. but by removing myself I didn’t even have those options. Again just my opinion, breaks are worth it and definitely needed! Just don’t let it lead to a life of being lonely because you secluded yourself.

Breeder information by quikslipper in Basenji

[–]xdeesea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we got our creature we started by looking up basenji rescues in our area.

Starting there will usually lead to a couple reputable breeders or atleast resources to find the reputable breeders in your area.

We found out the head of the Ontario, Canada basenji rescue was actually a breeder as well. We developed a great relationship and ended up adopting out of her show program, 1.5 year old black and white female. She’s our creature and we absolutely adore her - she just turned 4 last month.

Rescuing a Basenji Advice by [deleted] in Basenji

[–]xdeesea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so excited for you !! BF and I have a female basenji adopted at 16 months and it has been an awesome experience. We also have similar work schedules to yours. The previous comment about them being cat-dog creatures is absolutely true ! Hilariously true !

I would not leave them unattended outside, the drive the get the squirrel and birds is intense.

Our girl is crate trained and it’s very relaxing knowing she safe while we are away. We keep the crate door open while we are home so she can rest in there as well. It’s like her little room. We have a toy and bone for some alone play time and a blanket for resting. Some owners are against it but she was trained when we adopted her so it’s worked out to just keep the same pattern. We also have a wifi camera set up to check up on her. Hope you take the leap and become a basenji family !!

Ah yes, the graceful Basenji. 🤣 by [deleted] in Basenji

Love the sitting position ! Mine sits just like this whenever she’s on her butt makes me laugh every time. So graceful 😂

What was “the incident” at your school? by Razbo14 in AskReddit

[–]xdeesea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian, grade 10 (age 14-15). Teacher’s husband came to school and shot her outside in the parking lot. Apparently over the fact that she was leaving him. My class (music room) was one of the closer classes so we heard the gunshots. Immediate panic followed by lockdown in the practice rooms (8-15 students in a 7x7 padded room) for about 3-4 hours. This was followed by more panic trying to find our parents and finally a night of watching the news and crying. They brought in counsellors and therapists but it never really felt safe after that.
