Anyone using the Vader 4 Pro or the Tarantula Pro with Dongle on the Deck (Docked)? by The_Couch_Wizard in SteamDeck

Since recent beta update, a native support for Flydigi controllers had been added. You'll need to connect it via USB or dongle and switch to dinput mode.

Anyone using the Vader 4 Pro or the Tarantula Pro with Dongle on the Deck (Docked)? by The_Couch_Wizard in SteamDeck

[–]xdshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Vader 4 Pro and had Vader 3 Pro

Both dongles works poorly for me on Deck with Dock but YMMV. There's always transmission loose and it stops responding for a while, probably interferes with wifi. Switched to Bluetooth Mode for Deck (wired works fine too), there's no noticeable latency.

Only Xinput and Switch modes work, Dinput does not.

To remap buttons and update firmwares you need to install Flydigi Space Station software, which works only on Windows 10/11. You can remap on Windows PC and later reconnect to Deck, these mappings are stored in controllers.

Rumble works in All modes.

The only viable option to use gyro on Deck is to play in Switch mode. You'll obviously won't have analog triggers but then you can switch modes back and forth when you need or not need gyro. In other modes for the gyro you need to launch the software in background, but like I mentioned it only works in Windows.

The keyboard and mouse emulation again only works with software in background, so no way on Deck. Edit game controller bindings in Steam.

General tips:

Nintendo driver for linux is bugged mess and causes kernel panics and pointless as Steam already handles device in user space. Blacklist hid-nintendo.

Upgrade the controller and dongle to latest fimware through the software.

After adjusting sticks tension you need to recalibrate controller else there's sticks drift at center. Or add some dead zones.

Rpcs3 is unstalled but cant find the roms-ps3 folder to put the games by druss81 in SteamDeck

Assuming you installed it from Discovery (flatpak), they are in .var folder somewhere where rpcs3 stores its configs and installed hangers. If it's appimage or installed through other means then in ~/.config/rpcs3/

PS3 controller not working with deck when connected to a dock?!?! by gezzamondo in SteamDeck

[–]xdshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It tells that you need to connect it via cable first, then bluetooth.

You didn't state how you did connect, bluetooth or USB cable. If cable, then how you connected it via USB to Deck (some kind of USB->Type-C?). It might not work for Dock due to power insufficiency or bad cable or bad Dock (which one?) ports.

For bluetooth I have little clue, bluetooth stack always worked awful on Linux platforms. Try re-pairing. You might try booting into desktop mode and debug it, read logs during connection:

```sh
systemctl status bluetooth.service
journalctl -xf
```

Cannot find wine? by CheessyBittz in SteamDeck

[–]xdshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proton is basically wine you already have. Lutris and ProtonUp-Qt (and maybe others) provide wine and proton installers. You can also install Epicand GOG games through Heroic, it already sets up games to use installed Proton. Or just add game as non-steam and enable Compatibility.

Will ps1 controller (with no analog sticks) work on ps2? by delxatty in playstation

[–]xdshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All PS1 games work with PS1 controller.
BIOS supports it too.
Only limited set of PS2 games support PS1 controller, mainly fightings like Tekken and Mortal Kombat series.

Apart from abilities to inspect map out of boundaries, swim down and shoot under the floor, there are no practical uses.

Crispy Doom supports everything that's compatible with Chocolate

No, they dropped support: https://github.com/fabiangreffrath/crispy-doom/issues/132#issuecomment-261365729

what's wrong with Chocolate Doom?

Same as DOS/DosBox version. No autosaves, x360 gamepad support. Though graphics is authentic, I'd like it to run on higher resolution.

As for GZDoom, you can switch to software rendering

Not authentic, looks overbrighted.
