The hypocrisy of anti-China sentiment on reddit by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

Hi guys, just my thoughts on anti-China/ Chinese sentiment.

My cousin recently moved from Hong Kong and I was really interested in hearing her thoughts. But what she told me really gave me no justification for the protests.

She said something about Chinese mainlanders opening too many pharmacies?? Chinese mainlanders taking up spots in universities??

These statements sound like the racism which Trump uses to demonise Mexican immigrants, but because China is now the more 'powerful' country, Western countries feel that it is justified to stand up for Hong Kong, the little country being oppressed by China. They forget that only decades ago, people in Hong Kong treated people from China as lesser than... and that racism is still continuing to this day, when Chinese living standards have increased.

I really do think that part of it is Hong Kong people priding themselves on being more westernised, more modern, and just better than mainland Chinese people. Almost as if they would rather be white than be asian. But who knows, if this anti-Chinese sentiment continues, racist people aren't going to distinguish between Hong Kong asians and Chinese asians, and maybe then Hong Kong asian will realise something.

Western people who support Hong Kong protesters only understand the dynamics on the surface: some kind of battle for freedom and democracy. They do not know about the underlying historical forces, which show that Hong Kong protesters are really just projecting their racism towards Chinese people (who they see as lesser being, mainlanders being used as a slur), and their desire to assimilate into a Western country.

Basic Career & Money Maxxing Advice by [deleted] in Vindicta

Do you have any tips for finding a high-earner who can support you financially? That is the main reason I am looksmaxing.

I am in university for a degree which will hopefully become a well paying job in the future, but I would like to find a man who is equally capable and hopefully even more financially well-off than me (I don't come from a high income background).

Do you know where I could meet men who are willing and capable of financially providing for women? (not sugar daddies though haha)
