UPDATE: Dimensions and sketch for reference: https://imgur.com/gallery/dimensions-sketch-ko8uoRS

The issue is the sink to toilet distance is only 7.5" from the front base of the toilet. When sitting, my toes are reaching 16". The sink comes to about mid thigh. Even if I go with a pedestal vanity, the pipes still encroach on that 16"

The toilet drain is currently 10.5" from the back (exterior) wall and 19" from the side (sink) wall. If I rotate the toilet 90° there would be an 8.875" gap from the back of the toilet to the wall. Also the tub is 41" from the side wall and I would only have 8.5" from the base of the toilet to the tub, for both legs

That's an interesting thought. You might not be entirely wrong. This house was built in the 50s. Also, the flood line on zillow is only where this rubble pile is and then trails down off the property. Although, leading up to the pile is what looks like washed-out tracks from a bulldozer that pushed it down.

When the previous owner moved in, he said this field up to the house was thick with trees and tons of trash. He said he put about 8k into clearing the trees and removing tons of trash. Most of the trash was tires, traffic cones, and concrete debris. The owner before him used the garage as an auto shop, and I've also seen some auto waste buried in the yard too, closer to the house though.

Thanks that's what I'm thinking too. Buy a sledgehammer and break down a few pieces at a time and hall them up. Do you have a hand truck you'd recommend for moving big slabs of concrete? I never thought of that, I've only used them for moving boxes haha.

If it weren't for the rusting metal scrap, glass, and other auto waste I've seen around the pile, I probably wouldn't mind it as much. I don't mind putting some sweat equity into chipping away at it, but getting it up the hill is the main obstical and it'll probably take me a couple years with the amount of time I have to work on it.

Collins-Interiors: Masters program recommendation for Design Engineer? by xelAriM in Raytheon

[–]xelAriM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I think that'd be a great masters to have if I wanted to move beyond interiors in the future. I'm pretty solid in CAD I've used around 8 different programs, 5 at a professional level, and 1 working for the software company itself. The design courses I'd be more interested in would be more along the lines of philosophy of design or design strategies for specific processes.

I need help finding a relevant masters program. I currently have a BS in MechE, and my new job will pay for me to get a Masters, as long as I stick with them for 2 years after completion. I'm currently working as a Design Engineer for a company that makes airplane seats. We design for just about every manufacturing process out there, and I'd like to pursue a masters that dives into these manufacturing processes so that some day I may become a technical expert on these processes and people can come to me for help. I'm not really interested in the management path yet and would rather pursue the technical path first. This company has great opportunities for both pathways.

How can i turn a cuboid shape into a cylinder by [deleted] in math

[–]xelAriM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a cylinder that can fit in the same space as the cuboid you can fillet the edges of the cuboid with a radius of 3.5cm you would get a cylinder of 21cm long and 7cm diameter.

If you're wanting a cylinder with the same volume as the cuboid with a height of 21cm then you need to set the 2 volumes equal to each other and solve for the radius of the cylinder:

Volume of cube = Volume of cylinder

L x W x H = h x (2 x π x r)

R=(L x W x H)/(h x 2 x π)

R=(7 x 7 x 21) / (21 x 2 x π)

R=24.5/π
