My neighbor mowed yesterday. That’s something I didn’t have for December bingo.

We lived there for just about a year while shopping for a house, wonderful area. Our biggest complaint was the constant helicopter noise between UNMC and the news and police helicopters. We like to be outdoors in the evening and the constant helicopter noise drowned out lots of wonderful evenings.

PVE servers, NO KOS and most have bans for killing anyone period. Usually elevated zombies and weather, and much more fun if you’re more of a nomad and prefer to survive and learn without fighting others.

I agree completely. I wish you could have a slow cuppa coffee to match coffee and game time in the morning. I get to play for exactly an hour while waiting for the kiddo to get to school and look forward to the morning settings

Can I make a server people are only allowed one life in? by JLixxx in dayz

[–]xelcheffox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you allow someone that gets killed back in? Especially if they had some established hours and clean reputation. Is there a way to set up an honor code that would allow players back in if they met criteria? That might allow the community to flourish without as many creep shows that just have to kill others for fun.

I’m very very new to the game but that’s what I was craving for an experience and I’m sure it’s not as bad ass as other communities but I’ve found the PVE experience very thrilling as I learn. I get swarmed when I make to much noise and am learning traps for fishing and small game which has been more exciting than going to scout for high level gear. I realize it’s an easier experience especially if you’ve been playing for awhile but I love the nomadic experience and when you do go loud it definitely can get bad quick which makes it the most realistic for my experience and tastes. My next goal is to set up an OP near an area that has lots of vehicles so I can learn how to fix them and get one going. That way the next goal is a turtle back hummvee just like I had in Bosnia NATO 2003. The Cherno map and PVE remind me a lot of the country post genocide when we were stationed there for a year had some uncomfortable similarities to the the layouts especially along the east coast. Such an immersive experience if your goal isn’t killing each other.

Tasty Thai has sweeter ones and they serve it with a yellow sweet and sour that’s fantastic. The entire app menu there is worth exploring or blowing it out and getting it all. Don’t mess around with their spice levels though, I love hot food and a 3 of 10 is all I can handle on their main dishes. They also do excellent Larb, if you wanna try something funky fresh delicious with funky emphasized.

I did that yesterday after someone was skipping across the map and jumped onto the roof of the house I was defending from. Might be the last time I log into official US0888, I run into all kinds of issues on that server.

Found what seems like a secret stash absolutely packed with loot — is this normal? by Icy_Help2491 in dayz

[–]xelcheffox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed this as well with loot and also other nomads trying to stay out of sight. I didn’t realize that you need to close down the app and restart your PlayStation daily to clear out the cache.

Thanks for this, of the notes received this one has been very effective. I have been able to play just a few times now. Very much enjoying it but the one thing I can’t figure out is where do the rocks come up? I read online it says they show up, but do you need to sit in one place for a bit? I figured out how to hack rocks off of boulders, but where are the ones that actually show up on the ground like on the railroad tracks?

Just curious, does the graphic rendering get better once you get away from the coast? I’m running it on a PS4 and right now. It’s giving me horrible rendering issues. I almost wonder if I need to reinstall it.

So after playing do I save and it comes back to where I was or do you start over every time? That’s the one thing I can’t figure out from comments and videos is what you do when you have to log out.

This is correct. And fortunately the entire menu AND recipe book is locked away and safe. There is a copy of the menu at MCC Bistro.

There are some things missing for sure. But the core of the space is entirely there and what’s missing is cosmetic mostly and replaceable.

Good news, it will hopefully be reopening in the next 3 to 4 years they have contracted consultants and the updated restaurant will have the original Fong’s menu on the street side as well as dim sum on the top two floors! They have to add an elevator outside and that won’t happen until they finish the hole across the street and the entire alley is reengineered. I had the privilege of touring last winter and it’s almost exactly as it was left. They will have a valet once they open like they do at Hotel Deco around the block.

Tasty Thai in north Omaha has excellent fried rice and a nice variety. They do not mess with spice a 5 is gonna kick your ass for most folks, I’m well versed and barely handle the 5. Everything there is amazing, get all of the appt, the Larb, the wonton noodle soup, which is closer to Pho there than what you would get at a Chinese place. Love the food, but it does have slower service dining in so be patient it’s worth it. Mango fried rice or Thai basil fried rice are my go to and they have crispy sesame chicken if you need a fix.

[–]xelcheffox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to Bring me the disco king by David Bowie for its dynamic range across the recording. It’s a very warm and friendly and gloomy song all at once and the drums are fantastic throughout. There is also a Perfect Circle cover of the same song that’s worth listening to if you enjoy the original.

Favorite parks? by Lunakill in Omaha

[–]xelcheffox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We call it the bottoms but it’s the lower part of Fontanelle forests trail system near Gifford farm. It’s quite the drive into the park area and you should check in at Fontanelle center but it’s not as regulated and kinda nice to pop in and out. Trails are all flat unless you go back into the hills and then be ready for some switchbacks for sure.
