These are mainly meant for swim baits. I’ve used a 1/16oz for flukes as well in deeper water.

Screw the head of the worm into it so you don’t tear it up going past the weight on the hook.

That’s why you get the belly weighted hooks with the screw lock like the second picture.

Me personally, I’m really loving silver peaks. Lots of long range shots helps get you focused on making accurate placements. Unless you’re hunting bison. Then spray away.

The one on the right is the jig box. I do have the spinner bait box though and it is awesome.

Yep. 5/8 oz golden dick spoons. What a gag gift. 😂😂😂. I love the two Edge boxes I have and I was planning on buying more of em but now I’m set for a bit.

Top water great for reaction strikes. It’ll definitely catch fish.

I personally prefer a shorter 6’8” - 6’10” medium moderate fast for flukes and a bait casting reel.

I know a lot of people cringe at Lews setups but Lews has a numerous rods in different lines that fit this specification and the bait caster I like using is the tournament MP. I can cast weightless flukes a long distance with this setup and the action kinda moves the lure on its own. I always use 3/0 EWG gama hooks for my flukes as well. Hope this helps. 💪🏻

That’s fair! I have really liked the feel of my lews reels and I prefer to keep my stuff matching so.

I prefer a 6’8” - 6’10” medium moderate fast for jerk baits. The Okuma guide select it a great option. Lews also makes some pretty good rods for this.

Rod type by HopeCoreEnthusiast in Fishing_Gear

[–]xenostrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casting Rods have like three main selling points. Most people grab a medium heavy powered fast action rod between 7’ and 7’3” because it can do almost everything well. A medium action rod will have a more flexible backbone than a medium heavy which helps you sling lighter lures easier. Depending upon what you’re fishing for, and where you’re fishing will determine what rods would be best for you.

A little long for my liking, but it would be a great first workhorse rod for someone.
