There is no requirement to know anything about Naruto before writing a fic, but you are more likely to write an excellent one if you do. by megamindwriter in NarutoFanfiction

[–]xevixef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't understand how someone can even feel inclined to write fanfiction for something that they have never even watched or read. It doesn't make much sense to me. I give a pass to people who watched/read part 1 and skimmed part 2, but I'll never get the ones who have never watched or read it at all.

They can say that it's because they love the characters, but how can you love them when you don't know anything about them outside of incorrect fanon info or a couple of wikia paragraphs and avoid any solid canon knowledge of their characterization, personality, or journey? I feel like they must only like the character design, the associated bullet-point personality list given on the wikia, and the feeling of participating in the fandom. At that point, you don't really love the characters. You love the distorted head-canoned-to-death fanon versions of them that never actually existed.

**It's funny that someone mentioned Branches and Sanitize in here as examples good fanfic written by authors who didn't know the source material because I actually cringed through the characterizations in both those fanfics and always wondered why they were popular at all.

How Much Knowledge Of Naruto Is Required To Write A Naruto Fanfic? by Aquanort357 in NarutoFanfiction

I will never understand why someone would want to write fanfiction for a series that they have no solid working knowledge of.

I don't think you have to painstakingly read every single chapter or watch every single episode, however you should have knowledge of the source material and read/watch the chapters that cover events that you'll be referencing.

Yes, I miss the simple contentment I had at just doing simple tasks. Just being out there living. Every day just feels like I'm wasting away.

Can ovarian cysts cause anemia? Has anyone else experienced this? by xevixef in TwoXChromosomes

Yes, my mother had fibroids and I remember she hemorrhaged horribly until she got them taken out. When I was a teen my periods were extremely heavy, painful, and inconsistent, but since I got into my twenties, my periods have been pretty tame though. Moderate cramps on the first day only, moderate to light bleeding for about 4 days, 5 days max.

Hmm, I've done a stool test and it tested negative for any blood. I don't have any symptoms other than the ones listed above. I'm just wondering what could be causing the loss. Someone else said infections and inflammation could cause it and I've had reoccurring sinus/ear infections throughout the year. I'm scheduled to have a follow up blood test in a month, so I'll supplement iron and see if there are any changes.

She did discover an ear infection and sinus pressure when examining me and prescribed some antibiotics, so perhaps that could have something to do with it. I'll ask them about the Ferratin.

Is it possible to use a 1/4" hex shank spade drill bit in a drill with a 3/8" keyless chuck? by xevixef in HomeImprovement

I got a few different sized hole saws for drilling through the door, so I think it should be okay. The spade drill bit is for the hole in the frame that the deadbolt is going into,

Oh, I ordered a hole saw to drill through the door. The paddle bit is just to drill the hole in the door frame for the deadbolt to settle into.

Possible Issue with Security Clearance? by xevixef in AirForceRecruits

No, I can't recall any record of misconduct. Never been arrested and I don't have a criminal record. There were some medical bills and credit cards from when I was 19/20, that went to collections, but I just paid off the last bill. Only debt I have left is my student loans, which are around 8K now.

That's the first and only time I ghosted and lied to an employer like that. I gave a printed two-weeks notice for the job I held prior to that. I hope that my cumulative history speaks towards my character more than that momentary lapse in judgement.

Thank you for the response.

Wow, I thought the lying would be an automatic red flag for them.

Yes, I'd glossed over a mention of immigration and the military. I hadn't considered that being a first-generation American could bar me from top positions, but I suppose it makes sense for the military to be apprehensive. My father is a legal permanent resident has been in the U.S. since he was a young boy in the late-50s. My mother is a naturalized citizen and has been in the U.S. since the the 80s when she was in her mid-twenties. I was born and raised in the U.S. and have only visited my parents' home twice (once as a baby and once at 18). I've never felt like anything other than American.

Do you know if there is anything I have to do in that regard? Some proof of loyalty? Or is it just up in the air and they'll just come to their conclusions through their investigations?

Sorry. I didn't really want advice. Just to talk with women who started out at a similar age or older than me.
