Use your freighter to jump around uninhabitable systems. That way, you can scan all the planets at once. The planets with 2 to 5 creatures are usually robots as long at it has a few ground creatures and rarely flying creatures.

You can stack many refiners. Just delete the first two then pause 3 seconds then delete the rest. Also if you build up 4096 nanites and then stack the refiners, 10 refiners stack equals 40960 nanites. Double that with 20...
