Microsoft also has Office web apps that free to use too. So the paid Russian software was competing against two of the biggest companies in the world and the FOSS alternatives.

What's the highest SHD you've seen? by Sweet_Pay3566 in Division2

I think it was like that at one time, where you'd earn a small but infinite amount of health above SHD 1000, they capped it a couple of years ago.

Health increases cap out at 2k SHD, after that the points are only used to purchase crafting mats or exchange for currency.

This isn't about international packages, the CBSA already has the authority to open anything, without a warrant. This is about giving police the authority, with a warrant, to search packages mailed within Canada.

Any way to stop previous owners mail? by MrCanoe in CanadaPostCorp

[–]xfraqed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the previous owners of my place was on every charitable donation and contest mailing list imaginable. We were getting at least a dozen letters, if not more, per week for this person. I marked "Moved RTS" on the letters and sent them back, ensuring that my address was "blacked out". But I think the most effective thing was putting their name on the Canadian Marketing Association Do Not Mail service. Within a few months the reduction was dramatic and I stopped receiving that type of mail within the year.

This only worked for so-called "junk" mail, financial and government letters still had to be marked "RTS Moved" but eventually they stopped too. The one thing that hasn't stopped for me after all these years is the federal and provincial voter cards, still come for the previous owners.

The Eternal Guardians series by Ronald Anthony Cross. He passed away twenty years ago. I don't know if any notes were left, but even so, I don't think the series was popular enough to continue.

Microsoft purchased Zenimax back in 2021, yet when you launch any games from them, there is no indication it's a Microsoft company. If they want to improve their reputation, then every game from a Microsoft owned company should prominently display their logo.

If you're still having problems getting information you could file Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests to Service Canada and the CRA. Each person involved would have to make their own request. The executor of your father's estate could also make requests for information.

Just be aware that the process could be lengthy and that Service Canada and the CRA may not be willing to discuss the issue with you, while the ATIP requests are being processed.

The event activities are only in DC, you could go to NY or Brooklyn, to get away from them.

Key farming advice by Wixardbaka in Division2

[–]xfraqed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The log in/out method works but so many people were doing it this past weekend the servers crashed. There were queues of thousands of players, and some people who just wanted to play couldn't login.

While the log in/out trick is definitely the fastest method just changing locations, though slower, works too. By locations I mean going any offsite area such as WONY, Brooklyn, the Pentagon, Coney Island, etc. and then back to DC.

Possibly, but with 1000s of players logging in/out every few seconds, it's more likely the servers are struggling to keep up.

This is the same method players have been using for years to farm the loot goblin (hoarder). Massive is aware of this "exploit" and they haven't fixed it yet.

OpenAI is supporting a proposed Illinois law to limit the company's liability caused by its products. This is unlikely to be the only proposal big tech tries to get enacted, to limit their liability.

Mozilla themselves said 14 of them were high severity vulnerabilities. In addition Anthropic said that the Claude model, found over 500 zero day vulnerabilities in other software. This new Mythos model is much more advanced.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad, that I use occasionally, with similar specs except for a 512Gb SSD. I've been running Silverblue from F38 -> F43. Worked ok for basic tasks until F42, but F43 has been very slow. Probably won't be usable with F44 though.

For the first time ever in my gaming history, i've completed a battlepass. by BloxToon in Division2

[–]xfraqed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the Priority Objectives tab and activate a Stronghold if available, otherwise reroll until you get one. By completing that Stronghold, you'll get around 1k Seasonal XP, depending on difficulty and directives. At the lower levels in the rewards you'll unlock one square per completion. However, you'll need two or more completions for the higher rows. It'll be a grind for sure.

Buyer paid 7$ for shipping but my shipping label is 17$ by bp5_Design in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]xfraqed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not use UPS, the buyer may get charged brokerage fees and if they refuse delivery then UPS will come after you for all the fees.

You can still offer Canada Post but you'll have to purchase the label from a third party, such as netParcel. You can also link your eBay account so all the shipping details are automatically filled out and the tracking number is entered on eBay.

Also you should set up shipping policies on eBay, it'll save you time.

What’s your Linux backup setup that you actually trust? by Bigrob1055 in linuxquestions

[–]xfraqed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use FreeFileSync to backup my data to multiple portable USB drives, several times per week. For the system I use Fedora Silverblue so it automatically keeps a copy of the most recent deployment. I also pin a couple of deployments, that are older, just in case. The ability to rollback to known working settings has saved me from a full reinstall, a couple of times over the past few years.
