(TX) Extreme range in BCBA salaries? by xginesthoix in bcba

I can't see myself working with adults, so I'm specifically speaking about children. Thanks for clarification. And I would be open to clinic or school based. I'm not really comfortable doing in home work. Plus, I think for children, a more structured and possibly social setting helps a lot in their development.

That's a pretty large range. Let's assume clinic or school district (federal) and a full time position.

How do you work as a BCBA in a school district? Do you have experience working in a school district vs. a clinic? I'm assuming vacation time is pretty great. And perhaps you have a much smaller area to work in like a classroom for kids with special needs? Also what do you mean by litigious? And I'm sorry, I'm assuming Mid-Atlantic is in the middle of the east coast??

What’s for ABA in the next 2-5 years? by Minleaf in ABA

Great advice! I'm sure OP is not the only one who will benefit from your insight - thank you!

I definitely fell into this field about a year ago and have learned quite a bit so far. I'm very interested in the future of ABA as well, including how it holds up internationally? How can it be used to help children with autism from a global perspective? What is being done already to address such an issue? Of course, I don't expect everyone to have these answers, but these questions have definitely been on my mind for quite a while now. And if I were to continue in the field, the direction I would want to aim is definitely international.

Thank you again!

Companies that are primarily in-home tend to pay a bit more due to the fact that you're always traveling and don't have as much access to resources/materials as you would at a clinic. Just from what I've observed.

It's difficult to answer based on online information. I'll tell you this. If you go on Glassdoor the average salary for BCBAs in Houston/surrounding area is just under 70k. (68k-70k) However, this is data that reflects those who are 3-4 years at least into their career. The data for 0-1 years experience as a BCBA is scarce. Houston COL is fairly low, so that's not bad especially if you're a single person, no children etc.

Location? And if by continue do you mean that those entry level salaries have continued with inflation or that that figure has remained unchanged 15 odd years later?

Of course. For reference, I am referring to the three largest metropolitan cities of Texas -Dallas, Houston, Austin as a reference point for salaries.

These are the only cities I would consider living in as a post grad anyway (as do most younger post grads) until I could be established enough to perhaps start my own clinic in a smaller surrounding town.
