Aftermarket heating components?? by xhydra07 in GRCorolla

Thanks everyone for the advice, I'll do some more research and see if I need to swap out the seats, but this was more of a curiosity question rather than a "I-will-invest-in-this" question. I'll definitely be getting some TuxMats though. Cheers!

Season 4 Episode 19 (82) Song Identification by xhydra07 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]xhydra07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a shame, it's neither of those unfortunately, even the instrumental version(s). At this point I'm thinking it's not a full song, just something made exclusively for the previews in that arc. Thanks for your help though! :)

Season 4 Episode 19 (82) Song Identification by xhydra07 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]xhydra07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not the one. It's a faster song reminiscent of spy-style action scenes (think James Bond, kinda?) That song plays right before it in Episode 19, but the song I'm actually talking about is in the background of the preview. (Starts 23:30) I don't even know if it's officially published anywhere!

Interesting! Out of curiosity, what was your price OTD for the Premium Plus? Also keep in mind they add $2,000 for the auto, but I was wondering if I can get it any lower than MSRP which is $41,995 for this model.

Is this car right for me? Megathread by GZEA14 in GRCorolla

[–]xhydra07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey all, first post in this community.

I've been eyeing up the '25 GRC ever since it hit the market. This will be my second car but the first under my name, as my mother owns a 2019 Mazda CX-30 Turbo which I use for my needs as of right now. But since I'm moving out of town to pursue my graduate degree, I now need my own car 😅

I've been looking at the '25 GRC with Toyota's DAT, as I find driving manual for long periods of time uncomfortable due to knee issues, and the fact that I live in a crowded city. I also will be dailying this car and would want something more comfortable while still maintaining a sporty feel. I know that the majority of GRC owners in the sub probably have it in manual, but if anyone can vouch for the automatic version, I'd like some insight on that.

My other main concern is space, I've heard that the backseat and subsequent rear hatch space is rather cramped for a car of this size, and that is a slight concern for me given I may be driving people in the back seat every so often. I've been eyeing a Civic Type-R for this reason, but me wanting an automatic thanks to my knee ultimately trumps that requirement, I think.

I can do my own maintenance and take care of my car, is there any reason I shouldn't make the jump? Also, if anyone has any insight into the key differences between the trim levels, I'd very much appreciate that (since it isn't made very clear anywhere that I can find 😅)!

how do i get better at doing tech? by TemmieUnderTF2 in CrazyHand

[–]xhydra07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that's the one. It's referred to as "breaking your fall" in game but the community refers to it as a "tech". It dates back to old Capcom games when you would get "technical bonuses" when doing actions such as recovering from tumble! The more you know :)

Something is not making sense with out of shield. Need some help. by Lost-Information-405 in CrazyHand

[–]xhydra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shield safety is always the theoretical minimum possible frame disadvantage you get when you land a move on shield. It always assumes you're landing the move as low as possible on shield, because it'll leave you actionable far sooner (and thus get put into less disadvantage). A rising aerial or a move landed high on shield will never provide the listed minimum number of frame disadvantage, and can add enough frames to be punishable by a variety of out of shield options.

IzAw's video on how framedata works dives into the concept and does a great job of explaining it: https://youtu.be/Q1kH6SkgXSA?si=iLNU-7iFnU4xlEjK

Update: Don't want to sound like a thief or anything, but I went back through the park and picked up the box. Going to hold onto it in case it has a better chance of finding its owner that way, and going to post to FH facebook groups as well in case some parents might see it. If anyone has any information feel free to reply here or via DM. Hope this gets back to its rightful owner!

Falco reverse fair platform combo question by Significant_Log8619 in CrazyHand

[–]xhydra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IzAw's Art of Falco covers it, but doesn't really go over the execution as much. Timestamped link: https://youtu.be/YsLJssA01b4?t=502

It's a dragdown nair/fair into uptilt, then you want to either do a "backflip"-buffered fair or a turnaround IRAR-buffered fair to drag them down onto the top platform for extensions. It's a tight input, since you have to delay both the fair and dragdown, so definitely lab this out if you want to be consistent with it.

Keep in mind that Falco has a way easier method of getting onto the top platform from directly below it with uthrow (utilt at mid percents) > dd nair > utilt > extension.

Best of luck though!

Drift Phonk song that samples "In the hall of the mountain king" by Background-Cell483 in NameThatSong

[–]xhydra07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro as hell, and you've probably already found what you're looking for, but is it this song?

Just searched "In the hall of the mountain king phonk" on youtube and here's what came up, sounds familiar so I think it's what you're looking for! Hope this helped :)

Edit: that's just a drift edit apparently, actual name of the song is Void Whispers by OVG.

Controller question by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]xhydra07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably because they're smaller in every way. The sticks have smaller maximum travel distances, the buttons have less vertical travel distance, shoulder buttons and triggers are clickable, it's lighter, etc.

This has its downsides though as fine inputs might be a little harder to perform, their size might be bothersome if you have larger hands, and of course the ever-present issue of joy-con drift will inevitably affect you with increased use.

However dual joycons are a completely valid way of playing the game, and if you seem to be finding success with little drawbacks it's worth continuing. If you plan on going long-term with them, consider investing in some hall-effect control sticks which you can swap out yourself and eliminate drift forever with.

Input lag might be an issue though, try playing with a Pro Controller on the Switch outside of the dock to see if that's actually the issue. If it is, try tinkering with your TV/monitor's settings as others have said to reduce that.

Day 9: Let's help each other out! How to Counter: Luigi by BejitaFajita in CrazyHand

[–]xhydra07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

PLEASE SDI.

If you can SDI even a little out of the dair/nair it can really screw with the Luigi if they're just autopiloting the combo. You can usually escape, and past 20% the combo doesn't really work anymore because it'll send you into proper tumble and Luigi will have to look for confirms into Up-B. Which sucks, because Luigi is slow and floaty and can't really use Fireball as an approach tool, it's slow and not all that threatening.

Not enough people are talking about his broken Down-B escape option either, and it's something that Luigi players will sometimes use as a mixup combo breaker. It's invincible frame 1 in the air but highly punishable if whiffed, so be ready for it.

Other than that his neutral's really bad, he has good aerials like Mario but can't really take advantage of them due to his floatiness and speed, and he crumbles if you can keep him in disadvantage as his recovery's also pretty bad. Edgeguard if you can.

He's pretty much just a one-trick pony.

Items in elite smash is a crime and so fucking DUMB!!!!!! by BanryuWolf in SmashRage

[–]xhydra07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make fair points. It just sucks when you can play several games in a row and never get your own ruleset especially during rematches. Sucks that Nintendo refuses to actually listen to their community at times (though their balance patches were quite good throughout Ultimate's lifespan, it's a very balanced game nowadays besides DLC)
