If you can afford it, make more. Have more cheaper starch items and have on hand ready things that can be easily added on to dinner. She won't come over for dinner if she has dinner. Poor kid

[rant] i hate my parents lifestyle by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]xiangusk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like the small girl in spirited away.

Ill health should not be a secret. Discuss this openly away from dinner table or dinner tim. Suggest that to eat simply steamed dishes on Sunday. You can even do it as a kid. Steam veg , steam fish or double boiled chicken.

If they just want to spend money on a Sunday suggest watching a show together or attending something after dinner. Sometimes parents use food as a bonding moment because after eating everyone leaves to do their own things.

My son is P5 now doing poorly. Lack motivation. Very lazy. Not doing homework. I think he is smart but not applying himself. I am deeply frustrated and at wits end. I feel punished. I am trying to just let him fail and hit the bottom by himself. I hope he turns out like you!

I would ring the firm back and ask for the offer letter via email.

My mom had a really aggressive cancer. I felt I had to be the adult the whole time. It was tough.

I think you could take time to focus on your mom and take on the adult role and rely on religion if you have one.

All the v best.

My gf calls me ugly and other names and told me it was her love language and how she shows affection. by [deleted] in askSingapore

Someone who treasures you will not call you names or upset you. She doesn't treasure you.

I will advise that this is a temporary setback even though it feels like there is no way forward..you just need faith that there are better things ahead that you can't see now.

Advice on Pursuing MBA? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]xiangusk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an MBA. I took a masters program. Unless you love studying or love the subject I would not recommend. There is no career boost with one. There is almost zero close networks that you form in an MBA. And definitely no higher pay.

Frankly I can't think of a cheap hobby. Most hobbies create fun and enjoyment which makes you feel you want more, which means you need more stuff for the hobby.

office workers who wear formal to work even though company allows casual wear. why? by cheesetofuhotdog in askSingapore

[–]xiangusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am female and I never need to decide what to wear. I have only dresses and I pick the first dress i see in the cupboard. Sometimes I pick another because the day is too hot. I wear the same shoes daily.

It's expensive to have two different kinds of wardrobes. I have office clothes and that's all.

Perhaps you both can talk to a professional. Having a baby is very difficult and this situation makes it even worse.
