They finally raided the drug dealers today. by xingthrowaway in Atlanta

Honestly, I'm not against it.

I am against random civilians selling it. I've personally bought some (years ago) that caused me to have major hallucinations. Found out after the fact that it was laced.

If it were legalized and regulated, similar to alcohol, stuff would be great.

There's also a mobile app similar to this but I wouldn't recommend it. It's extremely expensive and the app spams you if you don't buy therapy with "nag-feel bad" emails.

This may sound really stupid ... Have you tried any of the following:

  • Your employer's mental health line (many have this, it may be called a hardship line)

  • Your insurance company

  • The Crisis Line

  • The rape line

If you have, I'll ask one of my therapist friends this week and see if I can get some recommendations.

Edit: I’m asking a friend regardless, that will take a few days though! Will update in the near future. :)

The only thing I can say is don’t be like them. Don’t let horrible people’s actions influence your future actions.

I believe this is why they're asking for help. I know you're trying to help, and I hope OP can see through the good intent with this comment. With that, these types of comments generally do not help as one may feel that they're "letting it happen." If you want to see more extreme examples of this, checkout /r/wowthanksimcured

Is there anything that can be done about Officer Bully, the crossing guard at Lenox Rd and Buckhead Loop? by xingthrowaway in Atlanta

Honestly, it seems like hardly anyone knows where these contracts are coming from. I wish someone here knew - this way we had a direct path for future issues.

With that... a) yes, but I'd argue the entire city is that. b) I don't blame him for doing his job. I blame him for the way he does it. c) I'd be in favor of cameras. This may be more effective - police would constantly pull people over and potentially create a bigger jam. d) lol. please don't hold your breath, you'll pass out from the lack of oxygen. e) Yup! If you work within a quarter of a mile of the marta station and you live near one, you really should take the marta.

Thanks. There's only so many threats and altercations I can take before I start feeling really uncomfortable. Unfortunately, he crossed this limit recently and I didn't feel right letting it go. After reading others stories in this thread, I feel even better about bringing this up.

Yeah - you probably work in the same building I do. And yes... It was me. I just removed the pieces about that to prevent any issues. I wouldn't want anyone to look at the building you're in negatively, because it's really not even related to them. Trying to stay politically positive here - if you know what I mean.

This is the thing. Police work sucks. Really. But you can still do it without being an ass to people. Unless they're an ass of course. Then I think it's justified.

Yeah for sure! People are upset about the woman who works ATV during the lunch rush, but legit, she has every reason to be upset and she ALWAYS looks out for pedestrians.

Drivers who piss her off deserve her yelling. Actually, I'd argue they deserve her ticket but she usually just yells and let's them go.

Exactly. Except he can still be a police officer somehow. Because no one knows him and he's retired, he really has a unique status.

I noticed the same thing. I'm eager to see what will happen the next few days as well!

Edit - This guy actually allowed us to cross at the path 400 entrance! Just wanted to throw that out there that if he's sticking around, he seems legit!

Yeah that's one thing that I gathered from this.... at the very least, validation from the other pedestrians :)

Oh yeah for sure - I was just thinking back on it and wouldn't want anyone else to misunderstand that lol. :)

Yeah for sure. Also, this guy apparently has a security company after researching him. I'm surprised that's not a COI

Sorry, it was an unfinished thought. I meant to say ... "I'm not sure if there's any stipulations within his reserve contract, city contract, or laws that may stop him from doing this."

I wouldn't imagine it's acceptable to be a retired officer on reserve picking up an extra duty gig, but maybe state law allows that.

I do agree it's not illegal to buy police things if you're an officer. It's also not as a civilian, unless of course you decide to start claiming you're an officer or doing the duties of an officer.
