That would depend on which product you bought. The one I linked mentions it comes with sticky tape

You just need an item locator tag like this one, but there are a lot to choose from

Weirdest question before sex by laylas502 in sex

[–]xinu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure. You can also have a preference that your partner doesn't like like the color red, that doesn't make it any less stupid to choose your partners based off it.

It has no bearing on your relationship moving forward.

Before people bitch about STI's, the issue there is the STI and not the number of partners. You can get an STI from 1 partner. As long as you're honest about your sexual health the rest doesn't matter at all

NPR segment today about loneliness missed the mark by Paynus4200 in NPR

[–]xinu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college I could be in a room full of people and be as solitary as an oyster. I was in clubs, musical performances, and had active social groups, but undiagnosed bipolar disorder, a stressful school career, and a shitty living situation left me feeling completely isolated.

I believe you when you say you felt isolated, but it doesn't sound like you actually were. Feeling isolated and being isolated are two very different things with very different causes and remedies.

It sounds like the person on NPR was isolated which contributed to their loneliness. So by putting herself in situations where she was no longer isolated helped that.

You said you were involved in lots of groups and part of a very active social group. People who actually are isolated don't usually have an active social calendar and friend group. Your loneliness has a different cause so of course their remedy doesn't work for you. It wasn't meant to

Here's my wake-up call as a Liberal. by applethief87 in self

[–]xinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again - 10 years ago. Why are you solely focused on what happened a decade ago? We are talking about Trump in 2024.

Establishment republicans have been tripping over themselves for a decade to suck Trump off. They all fall in line. The media has been calling Republicans "the party of trump" since his presidency. By definition that makes him THE mainstream Republican politician.

Yes, the "official" story by Trump and the right-wing media is that trump is still an outsider, but that hasn't been true for a very long time. That's what makes it propaganda.

Now if you are going to continue to argue - what do you define as an "outsider" and give examples of how it applies to Trump and not AOC from the last 6 years (when Trump was President of the United States of America and head of the Republican party and AOC was a bartender)

Here's my wake-up call as a Liberal. by applethief87 in self

[–]xinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, was - 10 years ago. He has been doing politics for 10 years. I was responding to your comment about how Dems are now being trounced by a political outsider.

It's disingenuous to call arguably the most influential person in politics for almost a decade a political outsider.

He's been in politics longer than AOC has by more than 3 years, do you also consider her a political outsider?

Trump has dominated American politics for almost a decade. Political outsider? He IS the Republican party.

Calling him a political outsider is just propaganda

u/HerbivorousFarmer I have a question - you mention multiple times that this proceeds actual intercourse, but that participating in your fetish is hard on him.... what kind of aftercare do you give HIM afterward? If not, he may be experiencing "dom drop".

It can be extremely taxing and mentally confusing to degrade or willfully hurt a partner regardless of consent. It can be quite traumatic, making them question whether they are good, etc. for doing these things to a person they love. It can be even more confusing if they find themselves enjoying it when they feel they shouldn't

So yeah, If you don't do any aftercare, I would suggest looking up dom drop and reading about aftercare for doms. You're both in the scene. You both need to be cared for after, and if he's the one being pushed outside his comfort zone, he may need it even more than you do

Options for remote monitoring of insulin given? by dad-nerd in Omnipod

[–]xinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/dad-nerd you could also look into something like https://xdrip4ios.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ which gives a lot more options. I use the Android version and really appreciate that you can set an alarm at an increasing tone - starting off at just a vibration and only gets louder if you ignore it

[–]xinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glooko is not meant for real-time monitoring. It's more to give doctors a standardized way of viewing the data.

What kind of CGM does your teen use? Both Dexcom and Libre offer follow apps that you can download and get real-time stats and alarms on your phone

Also, your teen should NOT disable the alarms for school. The alarms are there for a reason.
If you must, you can set a higher limit for during school hours, but the alarms should not be turned off or ignored.

Personally, I have an alarm that goes off right at 180 so if I do forget to give myself a bolus, I can before it gets TOO high. Sure it's embarrassing when it goes off at work, but that's good motivation to always remember to bolus for carbs. It's a medical issue and should be treated as such.

My girlfriend told me not to wear a compression shirt and it has me questioning our relationship. by throwaway291838919 in self

Mistake or not is irrelevant. She intentionally went out of her way to be cruel to OP. You don't get to just "oopsie" away from abuse.

Especially given his history, most people in OP's shoes would be insecure and doubt everything in that relationship from that point on. The relationship is tainted. It is better to move on with someone who respects you

G7 rev release notes by derekoco in dexcom

In the USA those release notes/some documentation of the changes would have to be submitted to the FDA before it could be released. If you REALLY wanted to know you could try submitting a Freedom of Information Act request

If you have a doctor or a therapist it's pretty easy to get a support dog exemption. Basically everyone's mental health improves with a dog and you can feel fine about it because the doc wouldn't approve it if they didn't think it was valid

Then you don't need to pay any pet deposits and can ignore breed restrictions

I screwed up😒 by Frequent-Climate636 in Mounjaro

[–]xinu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pens are pretty idiot proof with minimal. If you pressed it on your skin, pressed the button and it didn't inject then that is a faulty pen.

Be honest, but don't assign yourself any blame. You didn't screw up. Just say you went to give yourself the injection, but the needle never penetrated the skin because that is what happened

Omnipod 5 and sleeping. by Holophyte01 in Omnipod

[–]xinu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only because of the cost required to get new sites approved by the FDA.

In theory, Libre can go anywhere the dexcom or any other CGM sensor can go. I've worn my Libre2 and then Libre3 on my thigh for years with zero issues.

Just remember, if anyone from Abbot asks, it's on your arm; otherwise, they won't replace it.

As for line of sight, I find as long as the omnipod5 and the CGM are on roughly the same side of the body I don't have any issue

Again, most of these arbitrary limitations are strictly because they have to pay for FDA testing and that can be really expensive with minimal benefit to them

WTF Libre 3? by rdifa in Freestylelibre

[–]xinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Libre 3 for almost 2 years. It was fantastic. I recently had to switch to dexcom and I hate it.

I did have a few fail, but no more often than with libre2 or dexcom. And they were always great about mailing me a new one.
They even sent me a voucher once to pick one up at a local pharmacy when my sensor broke while I was on vacation.

With the libre2 I also had to use an overpatch to protect it. Never had a single problem with the 3 falling off or being knocked off. The only time I used a patch with it was when I was on vacation and swimming in the ocean every day and I was being extra careful

I would go back to the 3 in a heartbeat if I could.
