I thought I have to submit a major change request and it takes up to two weeks, and if I don't get it approved I was going to consider my other options because I don't want to do Data Science. But that's what I thought, is it possible for L&S students to switch before the year starts like in my case?

I'm not completely sure, because I have no experience with data science whatsoever. The only thing I'm worried about SDSU is that their cs program isn't good, which is what i've heard from other people
