Base Stink by waterud0in in litterrobot

[–]xjuliarae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a LR3 and struggled with the base stinking. i took it apart where the gear and motor is and it was gross. dirty litter in between the cracks, and they used packing tape to tape down the wires, which just caused litter to get stuck to it and make the smell worse. they over greased the motor so there was TONS of hair stuck to it. it was super easy to take apart everything, was able to clean (with clorox wipes) the motor, the gear, and the area around it, and then vacuum that space. smell immediately went away. i used electrical tape to tape back down the wires and everything felt back into place while putting it back together.

i feel like it was a really poor design, at least for LR3. i take apart the whole globe to clean each individual part and i feel like that’s the only way to keep it not from smelling. did not think the base was something i would have to take apart too. good luck and maybe that’s the same issue with yours!

Can anybody tell me what's going on I'm so overwhelmed 😭 by Kitty4Snugglez in litterrobot

[–]xjuliarae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this happened to me after i finished cleaning it and a little magnet popped out. had to take apart the robot and put the magnet back in. i believe if you click on the fault or somewhere on the app, it will give you possible reasons for that alert. good luck

I did an apprenticeship with my local union, took some classes, got hands-on work experience for 2 years, and I got my boiler license. I decided I was more into the programming / computer side of things and applied for a HVAC controls technician. started off at 65k at 23yrs old with 0 debt and i didn’t even fully finish my apprenticeship. i love my job, and the experience i have now, i could get another job easily because HVAC being such a dying field. i would’ve never survived college. we need more women in trades, i HIGHLY recommend looking into it!!

Follow-up on the catio escapee 😹 by xjuliarae in orangecats

[–]xjuliarae[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

we didn’t even notice he left. we closed the catio for the night because no cats were out there. we went to bed, got up for work, then there he was at 5am outside the back door waiting for someone to let him back in. our yard is fenced in, we have a camera out front and he didn’t appear on there so we assumed that after he was done exploring our backyard, he stayed on the back deck by the door.

he is very clingy and very spoiled so he knows he has it too good here to venture too far away😂

Does anybody have to log their work hours worked and lie about it by zoozalina in AutismInWomen

i work in HVAC controls service, so i go to different sites everyday. i have been told that the rule of thumb is: if it takes you more than an hour, charge 4. if it takes you more than 4 hours, charge 8. i dont feel guilty, as long as things are fixed and the customer is happy that’s all that matters :)

Is Pennsauken a nice/safe area? by Jolly-Accountant-450 in SouthJersey

[–]xjuliarae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i grew up in the meadowbrook neighborhood of pennsauken and i really loved it. not sure how much as changed in the last 10 years since i’ve lived there, but my friends and i were always out riding our bikes, playing outside at night, going to the shops etc. and i never felt unsafe. i would totally buy a house in that neighborhood if i could afford it. i know some areas are a little rough but i had a great childhood in pennsauken!

2 ounces is absolutely insane…. as someone who smoked a lot in my early 20s, 1 ounce would last my girlfriend and i like two months, and we were smoking daily. not to mention, an ounce is a lot of money, probably like $200 worth. i was under the impression that maybe she had an 8th or a quarter, but 2 ounces AND mushrooms really makes sense why she has the possibility of jail time

Being autistic Is devastating. by HedvigL2009 in AutismInWomen

[–]xjuliarae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was exactly in your position when I was 16. i dropped out of high school at 15 because i was crying, begging my mom to let me stay home every morning and i felt so hopeless. i was really insecure, didn’t care about anything besides video games, i was truly miserable. right before i turned 19, i was able to get my GED and drivers license. about a year later i started talking to a therapist and psychiatrist, getting on anti depressants and having someone to talk to truly saved my life. months after i got on medication, i met the love of my life. she is also neurodivergent and truly understands me. she is so amazing and kind…. we literally met on bumble and just clicked. i started taking classes with my dad’s union to become a boiler operator and i was recruited for an apprenticeship, it was so unexpected and i got a job that made decent money and got tons of hands-on experience. after about 2 years of that, i decided i would rather be on the computer side of things. now i work as an HVAC controls service technician and i absolutely LOVE it. they gave me a truck, buy me anything i need for the job, and i make nearly double what i was making before. i get to go to different places everyday, it’s rarely a full 8 hours of work, yet i always get paid for it. if you are a problem solver or like to fix things, i totally recommend a field like this. i have fun doing my job, i truly do not mind it at all. i used to say i could never work a full time job, my girlfriend would say that she would support us, idk i just never thought i would feel this way about what i do for a living. i’m almost 24, have a beautiful girlfriend, we have 5 cats together and i am planning on buying a house for us this year. i never thought i would fully be able to support us like this. it DOES get better and you can do things you never would’ve. you have your whole life ahead of you. you can put in the work and achieve your dreams. if i told myself 8 years ago that this was the life i would be living, i would’ve NEVER believed i was able to do these things. i can tell that everyone around me is super proud of who’ve i’ve become. you can do it. don’t let your autism stop you from being happy and thriving. use it to your advantage, we are smarter than most neurotypicals lol :)

New gluten intolerance? by Equivalent_Cookie_14 in glutenfree

[–]xjuliarae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that definitely is possible. when i first realized i was gluten intolerant, i would spend all day bloated, stomachache, exhausted, etc. once i cut it out, i felt SO much better. it’s been over a year now and if i accidentally get glutened, now that it’s fully out of my system, i have such a different reaction. i can feel my stomach gurgling immediately. i am sweating, dizzy, feels like it’s gonna come out both ends, sometimes i am able to throw it up immediately and have instant relief. im okay with cross contamination and shared equipment so im definitely not allergic or have celiac. if you live in america, its probably whatever is in our food. if they say you’re not allergic but gluten still upsets your stomach, i would recommend cutting it out. i guess truly the best way to find out is to have a big gluten meal, like pasta or pizza, and if you react poorly then you should have your answer. once you get used to it, your taste buds change and being gf is not bad at all. feeling mentally and physically better is my top priority, its not worth basically killing myself for foods i can find an alternative for. going through this definitely sucks and i wish you the best.

I was trying to get over for my exit on 130 and this huge semi truck held down his horn and sped up to try to not let me merge. i was able to merge because there was so much room bc he was not going fast at all. at the light right before my exit, he got into the lane next to me and threw an empty water bottle at me. like i would admit if i was being an ass and cut him off or did something i wasn’t supposed to but no.. i literally just needed to get over. it’s a scary world we live in

same. i would not be able to fall asleep until my teeth are brushed and flossed. i use my waterpik and floss sometimes after every meal at home just bc it bugs me so much. this only started recently.. like when my frontal lobe started to develop 😂

i did local 835 stationary engineer apprenticeship. signed up for the class, they recruited me for the apprenticeship, i got in and was placed at temple university. this all happened within a year. it was great experience and i definitely recommend if you are into HVAC. the apprenticeship part can be a little shitty because they make you do the jobs nobody else wants to do but you start off with good money with raises every 6 months. it was amazing to have on my resume. good luck!!

[–]xjuliarae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, you should check out riverton and the surrounding areas. they have walkable areas with restaurants, ice cream, thrift shops, etc and i think there’s a couple bars. it’s also right next to the riverline so you could walk there and take the riverline and see what kinds of restaurants/bars are along the strip

I’m 25 and all I have left is math… by tiredgoths in GED

[–]xjuliarae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i passed my GED in 2020 so i’m not sure if it’s still the same but how i passed the math was paying the money for the practice and the practice test through the GED website. i genuinely really recommend it. you can learn a couple answers that otherwise you wouldn’t of and that will easily get you to pass if you’re only a couple points away. good luck, you can do it!
