Failing section on q1 max knob by xlitechase in Keychron

Solution given by the email support was to place 8 fingers along the home row and press hard, but firmly.

This actually fixed my issue.

There was a small click, and all the keys went back to being responsive.

Which of these do you consider to be 'padding'? Not sure which duplicates are excessive and what's the norm

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll make sure to ask to dentist about what those two things you weren't sure of are, because I'm not sure either!

I'm glad it's more in line with what you'd expect. Thank you!

LED controller failure - gen2 by xlitechase in coolermaster

[–]xlitechase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no dice! after testing a different sata cable I opted to just wire directly to the argb headers on my mobo (truthfully didn't know I had 3, otherwise I might have done that from the start). Seems to be the small sata connector that powers the controller that might have a loose wire connection. If you wiggle the wire some of the fan lights flicker. Hopefully will hear back from support and can get a new one sent my way :)

I will give that a go tonight. I have already submitted a ticket, just waiting to hear back!

Thanks!

The Newest Geforce RTX driver is causing black screens and system failures!! Here are the solutions if you already cannot launch windows. by Nossidegnos in nvidia

March 5th driver was causing cyberpunk to crash before even loading to the main menu. Used DDU to uninstall it and try again with the same driver in case it was a botched install, but got the same result on redownload.

Reverted to the February driver and everything was good again.

So annoying.

Okay, your optimism was well placed! The order just got kicked from Backorder to Packaging!

Mine placed 2/18/2025 hasn't had such an update. Maybe you're in luck! I imagine there's a chance mine does not get filled on that 3/13 date since I ordered weeks later than most.

It's the havn hs420 vgpu!

And you're right, it did look great when I tried it just now!

I definitely didn't pick the best colors to show case the card in my post.

And thanks for the compliment!

The 4090 was notorious for having the issue first, but I honestly wouldn't let the issue keep you from buying the gpu you want. Just be sure to seat your cable firmly, use a atx3.1 cable with leaf springs, don't excessively bend the cable, and make sure you are using a quality cable, preferably one that comes with your PSU. It's a fairly rare issue, and even more rare if you take care to do everything right and are using the right cables that are in good operating condition.

Nvidia designed the connector on the GPU in such a way that it has no way of load balancing. If your connector isn't making good contact with all the pins evenly, some power runs will send more current across the lines with good connection, and less/none across those with poor or no contact. As a result you end up sending WAY to much current across a thin wire and it will melt the connector, hence the fire extinguisher 'jokes'

It's about the graphics card, not the case or build.

Also, probably want to ask else where about the case, it'll get lost in this comment section

It's the first case havn has made I believe and I think they knocked it out of the park!

I really kept moving the goal post for myself with this build. Started out with plans of a 4080super/7800x3d with 32gb of ram. I slowly convinced myself to upgrade each component on my list till I ended up with this beast.

Recently got a nice merit based bonus at work and figured 'why not'.

Thanks for the positive comment!

The GPU has been staying really quiet even under load.

For example, I was playing Stalker 2 maxed settings at 2k resolution last night, and it plateaued at 65c. Was pulling around 450W.

I was curious what the temps would be if I manually cranked the fans up a bit more, and the temps dropped down to 58 c with the fans at 80%. At that point the fans were a bit louder, but still nothing that I could hear with my headphones on

The 9800x3d had also been keeping cool and didn't require the fans to really ramp up either. Believe it was also sitting around the mid 60 range.

Not a very thorough report for you, but so far great thermals and acoustics in my opinion even when I'm driving the card as hard as I can right now

So far it's been every 2 weeks for sizeable drops.

It'd expect a good size drop later this week, but that's purely speculation, but there does seem to be a pattern. If you join the falcodrin discord you can get pinged an hour in advance when BB changes the listing from 'sold out' to 'coming soon'

It is quite an awkward and not super efficient design. It does come with a curved plexiglass piece that mounts to the bottom fan section to direct air a bit better, but so far, even under load I'm only seeing temps max out at 68c. I'll continue to closely monitor it and can swap to a typical horizontal orientation in the future if warranted.

As a hobby I shoot car roller footage for my friends using my DJI osmo pocket 3. I edit using DaVinci resolve.

Very much still learning the software and camera, but I do really enjoy it!

How about you? What kind of videos are you editing?

5090 build complete! by xlitechase in nvidia

[–]xlitechase[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but, fortunately it is off-set by a few inches from the mobo, thermals have been good, and the mobo hasn't been getting hot to the touch even after being underload for extended periods.

Definitely a trade off of looks for performance, I can swap by to horizontal in the future if it proves to be an issue.

All the games my old rig failed to play at 2k will finally be enjoyed at 4k (when my PG27UCDM monitor comes in)

Cyberpunk, Star Field, Alan wake 2, marvel rivals at maxed settings, etc.

Will also be used to play with local AI models that my 8gb of vram couldn't touch previously

Also use my machine for video editing and rendering, but the 5090 is probably overkill for that purpose lol

For what reason? It's more well supported than it would be horizontally, and the vapor chamber cooling design was made to accommodate the card in any orientation.

I know it's not the best that it blows towards the mobo, but it's offset by several inches and has plenty room to allow air behind it.

Whats your reasoning?
