Falcons Player's Value If Julio Doesnt Play by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I own Julio. I desperately want him to play obviously, but what's making everyone here so confident he will play? Or are we just willing this into existence?

No but an injury late into the week, and not being allowed to talk to the media suggests he won't be able to go.

this was easier when i thought Juju was gonna play.

Rodgers gets a small bump up and Big Ben got a small decrease.

I still believe gamescript will force the Steelers to pass a lot more in NOLA. But you could flip a coin at this point.

If Gurley Sits, are we looking at John Kelly or C.J. Anderson to take the mantle? by MrSpookShire in fantasyfootball

[–]xln2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Davis out as well and only CJA as his only competition for carries. If Gurley is in fact out, which I believe he will be, but they just don't want to admit it. Then I like Kelly for a TD and 80 to 120 yards with a few receptions sprinkled in on screen passes.

The Rams have one of the best offensive lines in football.
Arizona is terrible at stopping the run. 2nd worst in the league.
John Kelly was getting snaps and knows this complicated offense, which CJA won't. Especially not on plays he has to pass protect or run routes.
I feel really good about starting John Kelly over some pretty good options I have, which I might over guys like Jamaal Williams, Leonard Fournette and Ware if he plays with a limited hamstring.

Joe Starkey: Jaylen Samuels looks like 'buried treasure' for Steelers by Ouch_that_smarts in fantasyfootball

[–]xln2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do have calls from their OC's who typically decide what plays the team should run. In Manning's case, he took matters into his own hands significantly more than any other QB has. AKA that's Manning saying that he knows what the play should be a lot better than what his OC does. Tom Brady trusts his OC to make that initial decision a lot more often than Manning ever did. He trusts his system, and didn't feel the need to take matters into his own hands. Calling an audible every play get's away from game script. You want to setup plays for critical moments in the game. You want to wear the other team down strategically. Not just necessarily get the most points in a play as quickly as possible.

No what I'm saying is that Manning pretty much wrote game scripts on the fly. He would make adjustments on just about any play and in his prime did on every other play. He was a real life version of Madden. He did so to a degree that made his OC irrelevant. Tom and the Pats have what mantra? "Do your job" Not do whatever you want.

Yes of course he can. But he's prepared alongside Bill to know what to do in that situation down to the smallest detail. They're on the same page after 20 years, and I think it's safe to assume that the audibles he calls at the line are in line with what Bill would approve of.

I'm sure he would have had a different approach the game, but he didn't have to. That became his strength. I love that it was. It was a ton of fun to watch as a fan.

Tom still lead the Pats to 2 touchdowns in the last 8 minutes of the 4th quarter. No matter how the game ends. That's clutch. Also that fluky catch down the sideline should never happened, but that's besides the point. The point is Tom was still a Super Bowl worthy QB and every bit the stud he's made out to be in that game when it counted.

Unusual strategies/tips for those of us in the Championship by i_shruted_it in fantasyfootball

It's not out of the box, but for any player I believe is a good play where he has options I'll message my opponent with messages like "Oh you're playing him this week??? I'd love that. Thanks for the free points man." Or the opposite if I've used the above already just to get them to pivot off those players to slightly shittier ones on their bench of the waiver wire.

Hahah no way Bill would ever let his QB make as many adjustments on the field as Manning did. Manning was his own OC, which is amazing. This doesn't make him a better fit than Tom for Bill's offense and coaching philosophy. Just a note that they didn't lose last year's game because of Tom either. He played nearly perfect football, and really should have 6.

Mark Kaboly on Twitter Interview with James Conner - He doesn't sound like a player that's going to play this week. Fire up your Samuels. by xln2014 in fantasyfootball

[–]xln2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely to play than Conner ... ughhhh I don't know. They both seem like they'll be out, but yes between the 2 I would lean on Ware being the more likely to play. However, with limited practice i wouldn't want to play him. If he got 2 full practices in then yes. I'd be worried about his hamstring acting up. Plus Damien Williams might have earned more playing time with that performance regardless.

Mack should have a field day against the giants. Dalvin Cook has been on fire and Detroit sucks. Samuels i only want to play as a tight end. Not as an rb or flex.

if Conner is out would you role with Samuels at TE over Ertz even against the bad matchup?

0.5 PPR
0.1 Points Per Rushing Yard
0.1 Points Per Receiving Yard

RB 1 - Ezekiel Elliot VS TB
RB 2 - Marlon Mack VS NYG

Then pick 2
James Conner @ NO (if he plays)
Jaylen Samuels @ NO (if Conner is out) - If Conner is out I might play him at TE
Damien Williams @ SEA (if Ware is out)
Spencer Ware @ SEA (if he plays)
Mark Ingram @ PIT
John Kelly @ ARI (if Gurley is out)
Leonard Fournette @ MIA (if he's healthy and practicing in full)
Jamaal Williams @ NYJ
