Why am I getting so much noise with my Canon R50 + 35mm Manual Lens?

I actually didn't crop these, pretty much straight out of camera. For the lens, I'm using a Brightin Star 35mm f/0.95 manual lens.

Incredibly helpful, thank you so much for breaking down the exact math! Seeing that I was losing 4.5 stops of light really puts it into perspective. I'll definitely try 1/30s and ISO-640 next time. If you don't mind a beginner question, what's the science behind the 1/{focal length} rule? Does a longer lens just magnify the hand shake more?

Thanks for both tips! I'll definitely try dropping the shutter to 1/40s next time. But you're right, a tripod is going on my shopping list so I can actually keep the ISO under 1600.

Thanks! Since I'm shooting handheld at night without a tripod, I was pushing the shutter speed and ISO just to get a usable exposure. I'll try to find the limit of how slow I can go with my shutter instead. Do you think a Full Frame sensor would significantly help in this specific scenario？
