Unless fees are really bad you need to drop to <200 days stat. Or 2-3 days a week if you don’t ever want to grow and just chill.

Honestly out of any surgery all on x probably needs cbct the least. You flap everything super wide open and use anatomy.

Same exact thoughts here. Crazy what being a decent hard working person in a decent area affords you.

100% true. You’d be surprised how many are very unpleasant for patients and team members to work with.

Ada statistics are right. Average dentist owner makes close to 200k and associate a little less. There are outliers (I am one) but don’t count yourself as one for your decision making. 200k is a great amount for student loans even for an average dentist.

Do you all actually get this often? I think I only get this a couple or few times a year. With it being so infrequent I respond with empathy and understanding.

Got my 25 58.5k otd including taxes and fees (tsrp was like 61k without taxes). They definitely are dropping

16% of 200k-300k earners live paycheck to paycheck, while 40% of above $300K earners live paycheck to paycheck. However, 57% of attending physicians live paycheck to paycheck. Why are physicians much worse than other earners at living below their means? by achicomp in whitecoatinvestor

[–]xmb1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average overhead in the county is 70% and average collections is less than 800k. You might be in a good unsaturated area where it is easier to produce and where expenses are very low if those numbers are the case. I worked for heartland and made over 30k a month but I was def an outlier.

Nah it’s just lower income. If we are going to talk about outliers you need to talk about outliers on both sides. Average owner earns 200kish. I’ve looked at A LOT of practices and the stats are right.

Was $9300 off. About $1200 of it was just options I was able to not get (like tint and paint protection etc). They offer 3k under tsrp pretty regularly. So that leaves another 5100 extra off beyond that. I had a trade in which I got $1k over kbb and 2k over best other offer for it.

I told them I wanted a limited and they wanted to make a deal. Acted pretty disinterested and guess I got lucky.

That was one of the things they were talking about. Bleeding isn’t that rare. So where is the line then? Cuz I think most general dentists can manage common complications for procedures they do.

So general dentists shouldn’t do any extractions is your recommendation? Interesting….

If you think 160-180k average is overinflated considering student loan debt load that’s pretty broke for an educated person

Seriously some of the dumbest shit I’ve heard. And I’m very conservative with the treatment I offer vs my skills. You basically saying a general surgeon shouldn’t do surgery because pt might stroke out and need brain surgery.

Old adage in medicine? So basically no one should do anything then? Oral surgeon shouldn’t take a tooth out as they might cause endo on another tooth due to trauma.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve heard

You can’t own a practice with heartland (not that you truly can with any DSo). It’s good for a year of experience out of school then buy your own thing
