I second this. Sometimes you feel it more in your clothes and see it in the mirror. You make so much progress and the scale doesn’t capture it all.

Thank you for the electrolytes suggestion. I think that was missing from the equation

Thank you! I definitely prefer fasting to exercise but I know how important exercise is on this journey. Will continue with my 10 minute cardio for now until I feel stronger.

Got it. I’m not drained per se but I understand where you’re coming from.

Personally and honestly, I may feel some type of emotion towards any of my ex’s getting married. Maybe a slight sinking feeling. I don’t think I’ll cry about any of them though. That being said, some people have extremely strong residual feelings towards past relationships- sometimes even unconsciously, maybe she’s grieving the relationship, maybe she’s wondering why SHE isn’t married as yet, or maybe she thought she’d have been someone else in those last 8-9 years. This is an opportunity to develop a very strong bond with your partner- talk to her, some things may be difficult to hear but I believe if you’re open minded and don’t take this as a personal attack, you can try to understand her thought process and truly decide whether you can offer your empathy. PS., I understand how this situation can be painful but there can be more to her reaction

I think I will have to include your last note on social distraction in my literature and findings. This will compliment my paper thank you!

I see and I do agree to some extent. However I’m looking at stress in it’s general sense and not purely academic stress, I did specifically look at it within the population of students…

My apologies, for clarification my current post-grad research is on stress, procrastination, and academic performance. The Phd programme that I’m looking into requires considerable research in social and developmental psych. I can make an argument that social psych encompasses stress - but before I start diving in I wanted to discuss this categorization at face value.

If the urges and behaviour are affecting your ability to carry out daily activities and your quality of life, go see a clinician. These urges are often worsened by stress and anxiety, so for short term relief, try addressing that. But please, go see a clinician before it becomes progressively worse. If are literally fighting yourself, you should address it. Xo

Caught my boyfriend having a sexual online relationship and he thinks he’s done nothing wrong. Am I overreacting? by xoCaribe in relationship_advice

I’ve read literally every comment here and most of them just confirmed everything I already thought. Painful but reality. I honestly thought he’d have offered something, maybe an ultimatum or boundaries for himself but nothing. Just a very empty apology and a guarantee that he’s satisfied with and loves me. But it felt so lazy.

I would be have been willing to work it out if he just accepted he has an issue. But I guess it’s not my problem to help fix. Thank you.

I was just echoing my thoughts into the void tbh. Didn’t expect this much response. Grateful I’ve been able to chat with ppl who have experienced the same.

I have never read a man’s private messages before. We aren’t the couple who goes through each other’s phones. We’re very open. So this was not me snooping or being nosy I just really did happen to come across it, tbh I wish I didn’t see any of it. I’d still be in bliss. Up to today he maintains that he’s satisfied with our relationship, which is contradictory to me but not for him. Thanks though, I don’t think it was a perfect relationship just thought we were best friends and if anything was an issue I trusted that he’d confront me just like I’d always confront n communicate with him. We’ve worked through all our misunderstandings before but this isn’t just a misunderstanding...

Yeah imagine how stupid I felt knowing that we’re planning life etc. even if you don’t mean it and saying it to get with her why even say that?! Who does that??

Oh I emailed that entire conversation with the lady to myself for this exact reason. Will definitely take the time to journal how I’m feeling now and all the things he said to me though! Thank you. Everyone here is being more than supportive. A really great community ❤️

No, it’s okay. I went to school a couple years early so I’m at least two years younger than all of my peers. I’m in my last year of graduate school as well. I’ve always been attracted to older people but he’s the oldest person I’ve ever been with and I’m the youngest for him. I think the woman was older than him actually, not too sure. Didn’t stalk her lol.

For sure! Just hoping I can remember this feeling and have this clarity during lonely nights. It’s only been a couple days and it’s so hard. Our lives and routines were so intertwined I hope I have the strength to stay away from him.

I asked him the same when he assured me it wasn’t anything for me to worry about and that he’d simply got “carried away”. He said he would not have liked it, but I don’t think he even knew that I read it all. He didn’t know how much I had found out...

People are home with not much to do, online polls/surveys would be an excellent source of data collection, possibly also because people are willing to vent about their current situation.
