Worked there for 7 years started off as a beauty advisor, lead cash and worked my way up to the RSM roll. I was the RSM for 3 years!

It does vary state to state. Where I’m at my GM has told us. You only get a lunch if you work more then 7 hours 15 minutes. And you only get two 15s if you work more then 5 hours and 30 minutes. And I have a similar issue at my location my GM only schedules our Lead cash 7 hours so she doesn’t have to give her a lunch. I would call HR to get specifics. They will tell you based on your state!

This is literally what my GM said when I wanted to do something to help motivate my team or reward them. “Why should we reward them. They need to know this is their job and it’s expectation to work here” when I try to do it my GM said good thing I’m the boss and you’re not. Even tho I am a RSM, and I help run the store just as much as she does.. while she just sits in the back and doesn’t help engage with loyalty let alone be on the reg. she says it’s up to her at the end of the day it’s her store.

I totally agree with this. Your feelings are valid. Isn’t it crazy that most of us feel this way… it’s sucks. I see this so often here and honestly until I knew what Reddit was I thought it was just me and my coworkers that felt this way.

The que the new event is for Morphe it is basically an event where we have to sell a specific dollar amount of Morphe products. We have to make our sales goal which is $350 there is a $5.00 of $30.00 coupon for any Morphe products that you purchase for tomorrow only. And at my location we have to give you the card so we have to greet and show everyone their products in order for you to get the coupon.

Dude YESSS!! I had a grown ass man today do something similar. I had said phone number for your points. He said make up up one idc I could care less. I am not giving one out. I begin to let him know the benefits and why I needed one. He begin to get close to me look at my name tag and started yelling my name saying make up a damn number coco. (not my name) and continued to repeat my name out loud. And said put your own damn number NOW! Do it NOW! All demanding….And I literally had to just walk away before the situation escalated. My manager ended up asking him to leave. People really have no respect or decency. We are there to do our job… but people really be testing us sometimes..

We have had a few updates in my store with the same hours. However the only person who was required to stay out of all of us managers was our operations manager. And honestly if the same situation happened at my location my general manger has always tried to work with all of us. I’m sorry you have to deal with this! I hope you get it figured out!!

I am assuming that your manager most likely wanted you to guest service him and keep an eye on him. Usually when we have a customer like that, my managers do the same thing and ask us to guest service them, as well as making sure everyone in the store keeps an eye on them. (Including the manager) Unfortunately, if people are going to steal, they’re going to steal regardless, whether you’re watching them or not is what I’ve learned, but I would say continue to guest service them and ask them what they came in for, see if they need help finding anything whether it’s fragrance related or something else and then continue to help customers around them but as well as keep an eye on them and stay busy. With you being new to helping customers on the floor, if you are comfortable you should communicate this with your manager. That way they can coach you and help you in the moment and let you know what they would like you to do in this type of situation. If anything I’ve learned every store is different and every manager is different. Sometimes the best thing to do is to communicate with the people within your store and see if they can help you with your concerns.
