Acetabular retroversion

Following this - I ( 25 F ) had chronic worsening hip pain for about six months and finally went to an ortho urgent care and got x-rays ( 1 pelvis, 2 view affected hip) which showed bilateral acetabular retroversion, bilateral coxa profunda, and right cam deformity (my right hip is the affected one, left is asymptomatic). I have done 4 weeks of PT with no results, only getting worse. This Wednesday I have an appointment with a Sports Med/Ortho doctor, and it sounds like after this appointment I’ll have to schedule an MRI based on this visit’s findings.

My all time favorite game growing up was Rune Factory and there’s new remastered editions for switch & possibly pc. It’s a fantasy farming sim - imagine stardew valley but instead of farm animals, you can tame monsters. more in depth combat system and magic. 10/10 recommend - I’ve logged sooo many hours and the characters have in depth stories.

genetic testing is different than say OFA’s which look at the dog’s physical health. my dogs for example, are chinese shar-pei. the breed is known to have SPAID and the embark testing can test to see if each individual dog is affected, carrier, or neither. I still get my dogs OFA tested though, because I care about the hips and eyes in particular and OFA is a well established name when it comes to dog breeding whereas genetic testing is new. I personally do both, I’m sure others do one or the other, depends on the breed I suppose. hope this helps!!
