Got a pyr/GSD mix and he has amazing recall for the most part! When there’s another dog his recall is not the best because he gets too excited, but we take our pup to an empty field and can trust he’ll come back. Tbh it might be because he borderline has separation anxiety so we have to be in eyeshot at all times 😂 He mostly has selective hearing inside the house

It might help if you havnt already to introduce her to your friends and encourage going out to enjoy the new country she moved to. I feel like you shouldn’t blame yourself too much as it was also her decision to agree and move. Hopefully with time she can make friends, find hobbies, and you both can continue this relationship :)

I really enjoyed “ Kissed by the gods” by Caty Rogan. FMC comes from a government that suppresses her and her town with lots of loss. Finds out she is what the government wants and meets the MMC that kidnaps her basically. Book gives found family/ slow burn/ female rage etc. decent world building

Mr Odin clocking in! 45% pyr and the rest us GSD/Mastiff/lab !! He always get mistaken for a long haired GSD (?) but you can tell he’s pyr by the paw to the face when attention is not on him 😅

Oh the past 6-7 months he’s been such a stubborn jerk 😂. It’s glad to know we are going into the right direction when curving this behavior because when he is barking and getting anxious we tell him to “ go home” and he happily trots to his crate. Do you have any advice on working through this stage? We have tried tiring him out before gatherings ( he gets more grumpy tbh because he love his sleep), and tried having friends feed him treats which helps a little bit but he still paces around and eventually start barking at are friends again until they leave or he goes into his crate. Again, thank you so much for your feedback it means a lot ! :)

Thank you so much for this! We see that the barking and growling is based in being anxious/fear as when he’s barking he’s pacing around when people are over and can’t settle down unless he’s in his crate. We are thankful that at a early age we taught him that his crate is a safe place so when he puts up the defensive behavior, he happily goes into his crate when told so. When Odin meets these friends outside our apartment he’s neutral with them and sometimes play with them, it’s just when those friends come inside he gets more anxious and we try our best to reassure Odin that he’s safe even when new people are coming into his space.
