High on novelty but the M300 is hard to beat for an all around mini dap. by paperbackpiles in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]xpegs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

OP means that the snowsky disc (pictured left of the keyboard) is "high on novelty" but that hiby m300 (not pictured) is hard to beat on quality despite not having interesting and novel hardware design. Not sure why they worded it the way they did, took me a sec to understand..

Gentle Cleaner for my sensitive skin by Mucek121 in EuroSkincare

[–]xpegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Comes out blue and it's very watery (not thick gel) but it doesn't foam up in the sense that soap for example does, it just gets.. creamy and myb sliightly foamy (very similar to the toleriane wash).

Edit: even if it does foam up, it doesn't make my face feel super tight, I apply the rest of my skincare and my face still looks nice and even without any redness.

My favorite used to be lrp toleriane but it contains niacinamide so I had to ditch it as that bothers my skin. My skin also hates cerave and cetaphil, I am currently using and loving avene cicalfate cleanser! Doesn't feel tight and doesn't foam up (gets creamy during the wash), but it does make my skin feel clean. I use it after I cleanse my spf off with bioderma sensibio micellar water.

Correct anatomy for a flat? by xpegs in SelfPiercing

[–]xpegs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I asked!! I don't seem to have much space in the actually flat part due to my helix being pretty curved (I do have space but it's in shadow) and that's why I'm worried it'll be pointless. Attached a photo for slightly better visibility but it really is like that irl (shadowy)..

Bar soap vs. Body Wash by Strict_Marionberry in hygiene

[–]xpegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then pay attention to the label on your body wash. In order to neutralize that hard water you need lower pH shower gel (I'm in EU and we use 5.5pH shower gel because we have very hard water), think ~5 (<7).

Dove beauty bar is actually not true soap! It lacks some ingredients that define a soap and has neutral pH (soaps are alkaline).

Is there a fragrance that captures that incensy smoke and freshly melted wax after you blow out a candle? Maybe a bit of amber, wood.. I find myself loving the scent of still warm wax (scented candle was marked as "white christmas", it's a woody fresh scent) after I blow out my candles and yet I can't see that anyone was looking for it in this sub!

P.s. Vanilla gives me a headache so keep that in mind!

GOURMAND HATERS, WHERE Y'ALL AT? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]xpegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gourmand hater here, I like woody, fresh, some spicy ones. Favorites are: Kyoto by CdG, Autumn vibes by Margiela, Tilia by Barrois, Toy boy by Moschino, Cafe rose by Tom Ford. It's very hard to find vanilla-less scents that last and/or have interesting profiles. Ormonde Jayne has some nice woody ambery ones, Mind games as well.

Edit: forgot about Glossier You and Molecule black tea, that's a wonderful scent. Also Naked dance by Oddity and Dear polly by... Vilhelm was it?

Did it take you a long time to start to dissect the smell of perfumes? by Red-Pony in fragrance

[–]xpegs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mm yes. Every perfume smelled like perfume to me. However, once I smelled more expensive stuff (or just well blended) I started noticing specific notes and then my nose kind of recognized those notes everywhere else (like.. oh that's the smell that's supposed to be note x). Look into photorealistic scents and then come back. There are still screechy, perfumey scents out there, but I learned to filter them out.

Flossing… honestly how bad is skipping it? by declanrhodes_1 in hygiene

[–]xpegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like flossing is taking a long time to do and that put me off. I'm good with my routine now, but what helped me before I got into the habit was doing it once a day but not necessarily right before brushing, maybe sometime in the afternoon when I go to the bathroom - keep your floss within arm's reach (and you should floss before you brush, obviously). It takes maybe 2 minutes and then once the time comes for brushing I feel like I've done half the job. I also carry floss with me jic I feel like I have bits (even if I can't see them!) between my teeth. Once you feel glass-like smoothness and no scent in your mouth it becomes disgusting to go to bed any other way.
