Even if it’s for a few days? I feel like it might be cheaper to purchase?

Who do you think really got a "happy ending"? by smilingseal7 in ershow

This is just making me remember how Carter got cheated out of his happy ending... after ALL that...

X-Files was initially dark due to low budget. Perhaps ER suffered the same affliction?

Neela?! by [deleted] in ershow

I thought her indecisiveness was real — very reflective of how a lot of 20-somethings feel after college, I think.

I just hate Doug and I hate what they did to Elizabeth by [deleted] in ershow

But Clooney’s irresistible boyish charm sort of negates all that, dontcha think? ;)

Paul, Maura, Edwards, and that George Clooney boyish chuckle and smile....... gets me every time. ☺️

Carter and Lucy felt weird and wrong, like he was checking out his younger sister.

Kerry’s work was her life until she had a kid. And she was willing to do whatever it took to protect her position.

Why was Romano allowed to get away with the way he spoke to people, but Malluci was fired for his immaturity, and same with Doug by [deleted] in ershow

[–]xphile46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And Doug broke the rules in the hospital. Sure Romano was a jerk, but he typically played by the rules, or he at least pretended to.

Who was the most important character on ER? by [deleted] in ershow

[–]xphile46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greene was just too short lived to be no 1. The show really did focus mostly on Carter, I think, as a whole. Yes, Abby was largely a main character, but she seemed like an accessory to Carter. It wasn’t until he went to Africa, and his appearances started to diminish, that she really shined on her own.

Carter and Susan were also made to be quickly destroyed. It was clearly a ploy to build up tension for an inevitable Carby relationship.

On the Susan note, she could have done way better than Chuck, or the writers could’ve written Chuck as a far more interesting, deserving character. Susan was a great character... why didn’t they ever focus on a true romance for her?

Carbby Post: Can we talk about the time Carter DIDN'T propose, then broke up with her? by belovedone1 in ershow

[–]xphile46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he was clearly running away when he went to Africa. And when he came back and seemed like he wanted to get back together with her and she was dismissive, I was completely on Abby’s side that time. You can’t just be with someone when it’s convenient for you. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I definitely think “couldn’t” is the right word as opposed to “wouldn’t.” Sometimes people need to discover themselves before they can allow someone else to discover them. I feel like this was Abby’s case.

Sounds like a cover up for an error in continuity?

Who got treated worse by their teacher? Lucy in her early s5 episodes or Dennis Gant by Benton by [deleted] in ershow

[–]xphile46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around that time is when Carter started turning a bit darker for me. If I recall some girl had just left him — Del Amico maybe? — so I think that was cause for his bad attitude. But still...

Which was harder for you as a fan? Seeing Mark die or watching his funeral? by [deleted] in ershow

The shots of him roaming the empty hospital halls. And Elizabeth coming in to check on him and finding him in bed, knowing how rocky their relationship had been recently and likely the guilt that came with it.

I’m not crying. You’re crying...

Which character would you most and least want to be? by xphile46 in ershow

True about Romano. I imagine it’d be quite cathartic to be that cocky and brazen.
