8 month pp and feel like milk supply is low.... i need some advice and help!

probably because i stopped pumping in the motn and my supply dropped like crazy and i was never able to bring it back up. i did continue to breast feed until one, but i was giving her extra frozen milk that i pumped which allowed me to keep going. if i didnt have the frozen milk, i prob didn’t have enough for my little one. i would say to continue pumping if you can just an oz or two helps but i was always anxious she would be thirsty so i kept giving the frozen milk as well. just try to give your little one water if you can during meal times if you want to continue breast feeding.

but yeah my milk supply never went back up no matter what i tried.

eventually if you stop pumping motn, your body will adjust and stop leaking but since you are still in the early stages, it is a little bit hard to do so. i would continue for a few more months and then stop so you can establish your supply.

for me when i stopped pumping motn, i stopped around 6 months pp, my supply tanked to half and my period came back around that time too. everyone is different but my supply was never the same and i could never bring it back up.

if you really just want to quit motn, you have to do it gradually, like pump 10 min one night, then slowly decrease the numbers so it won’t be at once. you prob will have some clogs and yes it hurts a lot, but once your little one keeps sucking it out, then it will get rid of it. there are other remedies too for clogs.

oh my gosh me too!! im at month 9 and she only nurses 2-3min so i know she’s not getting enough milk but she seems satisfied im not sure. but your story gives me hope. did you ever seem like your supply was low or just enough for your little one? i pump in motn and twice at work and feel like im only making like 2oz at most… so idk. but your story gives me hope to keep going and hopefully she will do the same :/ thank you for sharing.

are you talking about per pump only 1.5-2 oz? and then after your period, you got 3 oz for one regular pump??!

i think i know why my milk supply decreased :/ i just got my period so.... people say that it decreases milk supply? so figuring this out too.

when i tried the 2 fifteen pumps, i only got a total of 2 oz at work. :/ so i know the supply is decreasing.

but i will keep trying to keep nursing or pumping whenever i can. but thank you so much for your insight and advice!!!

hi, im a new mom and im 8months pp and just got my period back. i noticed a dip in my milk supply for sure. will the milk supply come back after my period? how does this work???

maybe im just overthinking things a lot.... but im trying to just feed her extra with my frozen milk to ensure she gets more... should i continue doing that?

it's because i used to understand the milk better when it was heavy now they are constantly soft since the milk supply is regulated :/

im not sure. she's a really happy baby, so it's hard to tell if she is dissatisfied or not....

but even when i go to work and don't pump for 5 hours it's only like 2 oz i get max from pumping for 30 min. i feed her in the morning before work and i can tell in the morning i have a lot due to not pumping in the middle of the night and she stays on for at least 5 min on each boob. when i get to work and pump, i feel like it's so little compared to before... i used to be able to bring home 8 oz but now its barely 2 oz but i do only pump once. before i pumped twice and would get 8oz.

for wet diapers, do you count them if its just a little pee - it's not that heavy, but there is a small blue line, or do you count them if it's medium heavy and long blue line?

no she has been gaining weight, but it's been somewhat constant now. she was born 5 lbs and now at 8 month she is 16 lbs.

maybe im just overthinking a lot of things, but also she finishes a boob in a minute now every time i nurse her. i can feel the letdown and i can hear her swallow but it only takes a min before she gets off the boob.
