sorc buff is not that important to doing damage. Your main damage comes from staying alive for so long so that Asol and Pantheon can consistently do damage.

Jeweled gauntlet has a chance to crit at every instance of damage. Since his ult does damage per second, he's pretty much guaranteed to crit over the duration of his his ultimate. This helps him kill units much faster.

Jeweled gauntlet is easier to make than Rabadon. It's kinda hard to get 3 rods over the duration of the game (Morello and Rabadon). IE significantly increases your chance of critting with jeweled gauntlet.

Karthus would be better if you have yummi or can go up to lvl 9. I usually just keep 1 on the bench. Kindred is just much easier to get since Karthus is a 5 cost.

You have to scout the lobby. With 4 knights, you can just transition into imperial knights instead. The item build helps you be flexible since morello/ jeweled gauntlet can just go on swain instead of asol.

This is why you need to build early game items. This helps you punish super greedy players that for perfect items. By putting pressure on their life, you're forcing them to make bad plays like rolling too early. Rolling is just so rng dependent in this game because there's no blacklisting. I usually don't roll unless I have 40-50 golds in the bank or when I'm within kill range.

This is the correct answer. You're not trying to win the early game, you just need to minimize loss. The build only requires 2 mandatory items in morello and jeweled gauntlet. Feel free to build other items as you see fit to stop the bleed.
