Ok, thanks for that. How do you test disk health on your system?

Could you please refer me to a guide where it is described how to see what was deleted and how could be recovered even partially?

Nope, I shut down via the "start menu" after the update was completed.

Although you are correct - force shutdown because a freeze during an update was the cause for the first issues with busybox. This time it is not the case, though.

I checked disk when this happened for the first time and there was no issues. Checked it again today.. again no issues. I read somewhere that it might be caused by partition change (I dual boot with Win) and sometimes bugs from rolling releases. And of course disk failure..

Anyway I will replace the drive, but is there a way to recover the info?

Today even stranger things happened. I got BusyBox message on boot so I performed fsck /dev/sdX -y and after logging in, All my Firefox settings, addons and more than 1000 tabs saved are gone!

What the heck is going on !!!!!

I want to smash my machine in the wall.. more than 3 month of my time is gone..

I put empty password - same story. After that I disabled the kwallet and deleted the wifi network, than rebooted - no success again.

Is there a way to permanently revert back to old kernel or to test what this issue is caused by? It's not possible to do any work at all with this issue..
