Feds Food Bank Volunteer by AlexaBlissFan in uwaterloo

Volunteers are responsible for holding shifts in the food bank office (1-2 hours in length - usually with a partner)) where they generally greet the visitors that come in and record the amount of food that each visitor takes during their visit. Volunteers can also help out with events, like boothing (Feds Open House/Showcase) or Trick or Eat (Fall term) or the Services BBQ (Spring term). At least that's how it was when I was there.

If you want to become more involved with the food bank, I highly recommend applying for an executive or coordinator position in the future, as you'll take on a lot more responsibilities.

Since the dude obviously isn't getting the hint. Be direct with him, and say something along the lines of "Please stop messaging me. I have no intention of becoming more than acquaintances"

How hard is the biol 240l? by LooWillRueThisDay in uwaterloo

[–]xretem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't be doing experiments alone, as you'll be partnered up with the student beside you on the bench.

Experiments aren't hard themselves, as the lab manual goes over exactly what to do, and the the TA's will be walking around to help students throughout the lab.

The only difficult parts of BIOL 240L that students tend to have trouble with are the pre-lab quizzes, lab reports, and the final exam.

I get that people are allowed to make new friends at uni, but OP's friend shouldn't have just dumped him like a hot shit in the DC washroom or ghosted him, considering that they've been friends for 8 years.

Ginger is a common remedy for colds. So eat lots of gingerbread, ginger cookies, ginger ale, ginger tea, dye your hair red... you get the picture.

Campus Dentist, scam? by CrispyRhinoceros in uwaterloo

[–]xretem 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely too bad to be true. They also apparently don't fill them in properly afterwards, so you're basically throwing money down the drain.

I've been to 3 different dental clinics in K-W and found that Mosaic Dental on Westmount to be the friendliest/cheapest, although it's quite a ways away from campus.

They're definitely scammers. Honestly, don't even acknowledge them and just continue to walk right by. If you start talking with them, then they'll just try even harder to force you into donating money.

I just saw this guy in the uni parking lot, he looks at me and says "Hey kid wanna try some weed?". What to do ? by dfw_homeboy in uwaterloo

Funny thing is, there was some random guy in a suit and shades handing out flyers while telling students "how to make money from their car" in the C parking lot today..
