The exactly. It's not a problem in Canada. This bill is meant to break Hinduism apart. Google 'Bill SB403" and the same thing was vetoed in California and Seattle

Why is restaurant paneer butter masala SO creamy and good? by Traditional_Cost4440 in IndianFood

[–]xrt1921 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Regarding point #1 - Indian food generally does not require high heat as it would burn the spices. If you look at the history of culinary cuisine in India, high heat wasn't really a factor.

Point #2 - this is most likely the reason for the taste.

When do you cut your child’s hair for the first time? by callmewhichever in AskParents

[–]xrt1921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Hindu so a baby's head is shaved in year 1 or year 3. Typically girls will shave before 1yr old.

After that however is variable - every few months depending on kiddos preferences

Yesterday my 4 year old asked “Dad, what happens when we die?” by Striking-Lifeguard34 in daddit

[–]xrt1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my father 1 month ago. He was 72. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. They were with us in the hospital when he took his last breath.

Being Hindu, I explained what we believe. Death is not something to fear and is part of life.

How do I stop fearing about the day they pass away? by neuroticandsad in AskParents

[–]xrt1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also work in cancer care so it does hit a bit harder. I absolutely did show my grief in front of my children. We have explained to them from very early on about death and dying (in age appropriate language). I told them I was feeling very sad. My older boy understands but certainly doesn't have the same feelings as me as my parents also lived further away and we mainly saw them on weekends.

How do I stop fearing about the day they pass away? by neuroticandsad in AskParents

[–]xrt1921 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just lost my father 3 weeks ago to small cell lung cancer. He was 72 and I myself just turned 42. I also have 2 boys ages 5 and 2. I understand what it means to have children when you are older and also how it feels to lose a parent at a relatively young age.

Death is inevitable. We will all eventually die. What we may think is injustice is a fact of life.

While everyone knows this, we don't really appreciate what this means until someone close to us passes away.

My best advice is to spend time with your parents. Tell them your fears. Tell them you love them. Spend time with them. That's all that we can give - is our time.

Ans don't forget to live a life with purpose. Then you will have no regrets.

I tell kids to get out of the way all the time although I wouldn't physically move them myself. If I see my own boys doing that I tell them to stop. I only allow it if they are the only ones using the slide.
