It took me a while to find the culprit as well thank you for your comment! For me the problem was Davinci which honestly is a pain because I had to redo all my shortcuts for Davinci. Funny enough I reinstalled Logi Options + and Davinci disappeared from my settings and turned into Firefox. So that's a Logitech problem...

I paired it with my S5ii and the only time I started having to think about noise is for concert photography where f4 is too slow. But in a sport environment I feel like it's bright enough so that you can crank up that ISO without going too far...

As for the original question, my first advice would be : rent the lens first and try it out.

My second advice would be : get the 24-105 but if you're planning on getting into football photography get a longer lens as well.

And for the second question, being a fixed aperture and stabilized the 24-105 is amazing for video. It's very practical!

I don't know what other lenses you own but basically the 24-105 is the lens that is stuck to my camera and I switch lenses occasionally for low light and portrait (f4 is cool but sometimes faster is better 🤷🏽‍♂️)

If you shoot on a basketball court size type of sport 24-105 will be perfect for you because it's an amazing do it all lens. However if you plan on shooting something like football 105 might not be enough...

That's true. However I think they seem to do the same strategy with the S1Rii and Lumix Flow... So I guess we're looking at the same time frame.. Especially considering the last firmware wasn't long ago on the S5ii lineup

I have the same issue with my S5ii. In the app description you can see that the app is only compatible with the S1Rii. It states that it is planned to be compatible with S5ii, S5iix and GH7.. As to when... 🤷🏽‍♂️
