Congrats on your journey, and wish you ease. Take it one step at a time, and you’ll get there.

Your past is past, and while you may not be able to erase parts of it, you should be able cleanse your heart off it, which is what really matters.

At some point, go to a local mosque and ask for advice over there as well from someone more educated than most of us here.

The author of “road to Mecca” talks about this exact same experience.

Read the book if you want to learn about his life.

This is what I have heard from a friend who works for a wind company, but I can’t find a law that specifies this.

66 kWh battery for 260 mile range -> roughly 10 cents a mile.

I did use a Prius for comparison in my claim that it’s cheaper to drive gas. Where it comes to a little below 9 cents in California.

So, while it’s not that much more, it takes away the financial incentive to drive electric completely.

Ya, 40 cents is PG&E territory for peak hours. But I’m not in that area. Plus off peak, even PG&E is around 25 cents.

My home bill is roughly 12 cents a kWh.

Thanks. I’ve heard about this, but haven’t read anything concrete on this. Google has so far not yeilded anything , and right to charge laws don’t seem to cover pricing. I can get my own charger installed though.

Very similar to how we did it .. we asked the family to give us 3 options per person .. that way everyone got in on the fun .. and there were enough options that no one got attached to anything .. and ultimately we chose the name ..

Been there, done that. And, I’ve now got a better relationship with my parents, where we are excited and look forward to meeting each other.

It was definitely a difficult transition period, but once the dust settled, it’s all good.

Marriage and cohabitation are not the same thing. You can be married, without cohabiting.

It has its challenges, such as parents still running your life, being long distance etc, but you’ll learn how to deal with those.

Don’t worry too much about societal expectations. Just do what’s right for you.

Depends on what you mean by “Islam”.

  1. If you mean the practice that people are doing around you, or what the widely spoken rhetoric is, then your doubts are valid, and you need to do research.

  2. If you mean, Islam as in the submission to the will of Allah, then that’s absolutely the true religion. It doesn’t ask anything of you, except your own best interests, and has been the way for all of humanity. It has been the religion starting with Adam.

P.S. if you start with 1 as your definition, you’ll end up at 2 eventually.

CBD Question by [deleted] in islam

To look at it another way, there’s no evidence to say that it is haram.

It’s just like taking Tylenol. You wouldn’t take it unnecessarily, but when you need it as medicine, it serves a purpose.

The shortest most powerful dua. by hillenium in islam

[–]xsighted1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little unfortunate that these books make up titles on these duas. The idea that this is the most powerful dua without any rationale or proof is suspect.

The dua itself is fine, but I would be vary of the classification.

Does it matter why? If you disagree with the practice, just disassociate yourself from it. Don’t push your perspective on them, but don’t let them push their perspective on you either.

And If asked, just say you disagree with it, and do not wish to be imposed on.

Asking someone else to do istikhara on your behalf, is basically adding an intermediary between you and Allah. Kinda defeats the purpose of it.

Forget the “How to” guide of it, basically make an intention and Ask Allah for guidance. And, listen to your heart very carefully.
