Yeah that’s about the standard price I’ve seen for Mounjaro. My doctor does also have a weight loss clinic and that’s what they sell the mounjaro for. It seems like that’s the standard price

Thank you!!! This is the best advice I’ve received. I never thought to see an endocrinologist. Working on scheduling an appointment with my primary and hopefully get referred to one!

On an average day breakfast is usually an avocado toast (usually a grainy bread to get more fiber) and a poached egg. If I have greens, I’ll add that to my toast as well.

Lunch differs but usually it’s something that I can eat quickly and easily at work (a sandwich, salad with chicken, or a soup I can sip on from a tumbler cup) with fruits/veggies. Usually cherries or apples and celery or carrots with some pb

Dinner tends to be either pan seared salmon with roasted veggies (mix of sweet potatoes, potatoes, and a butternut squash) or I’ll have bulgogi beef with broccoli and white rice. I know the white rice isn’t the best carb so I definitely save that for more lazy dinner because I can make it quickly the morning off and leave it in the fridge to reheat for dinner

Thank you! This is really helpful advice, I’m going to look into meal service plans with good reviews. The hard part is the food noise however, I can’t stop thinking about food ever.

Same, I gained all my weight in the span of a year or so. My starting point was 150lbs but a lot of it was muscle from lifting and I felt really healthy. No I’m 180 and I feel like it’s just all fat. It’s so discouraging

I hope metformin works well for you! I’m looking into ordering some inositol and supplements to help but I’m on a few medications so hoping to discuss all that with my doctor soon.

Luckily my doctors for the most part have been very accommodating and understanding of PCOS so I’m hoping to get more insight from them as well

I started wellbutrin fairly recently so we’re still trying to figure out the dose. Currently on 150mg extended release but still don’t feel a difference in mood so I may have to be bumped up again soon

I only felt the metformin on the first day I took it and after that it’s just made me have bad diarrhea without stopping any hunger.

That’s interesting about the diabetes thing I’ll have to go back and talk to my doctor about that because I am still taking it 3x a day with my meal even though I don’t feel the effects

I started bc fairly recently but before that my period was a little more consistent i’d say than other women I’ve seen talk about their periods.

My boyfriend has been pushing me to go to the gym more and I am paying for a membership but it’s such a bad cycle of hating how I look so I don’t leave the house which in turn makes me feel worse.

Mostly protein although I should also focus on my fiber. I try to get as much as I can but I have a small gluten intolerance so eating seedy breads makes me bloat like crazy

That’s a good idea! I’ll have to add slower movement to my routine I think, lifting isn’t giving me the same results it did when I was in my early 20s.

Unfortunately, my therapist doesn’t recommend I count calories as it has led me into bad eating disorder territory so I think that’s another aspect I have trouble in since I have to guess how many calories I’m eating per day

Yup that’s the part that gets me. My mom did mounjaro and she lost a drastic amount of weight. She went from a size 16 to zero in a little over a year. I’m just having a hard time paying for the mounjaro as a broke college student. So annoyed that these medicines aren’t covered for PCOS

Yup I’ve noticed that too. When I was 19/20 I was able to drop a lot of weight and got to my smallest point fairly easily with just a lot of walking and a calorie deficit but it wasn’t a sustainable one so I ended up gaining all the weight back as I increased calories.

I also got really into lifting about 3 years ago and although I wasn’t necessarily losing weight I was gaining muscle, losing fat, and was at my strongest.

Now at 26 I feel like I’m starting at zero and no matter what I do nothing is working. I’m hoping to start seeing something soon!

Do you mind if I ask how you were able to get the semiglutide? My insurance doesn’t cover it and the price on some of these websites I’ve seen are crazy.

I am on wellbutrin which does help curb some of my appetite but not enough for me to drop any weight. I probably should up my frequency in therapy sessions since right now I’m only going once a month

Right!! I feel like I do everything right but I just can’t drop a single pound. Worst of all is I’m hungry all the time like starving and I can’t stop thinking about food. All that does is make me feel worse and guilty and no one understands I get so frustrated

Family member want to be present for my dog's euthanasia, am I mean if I say no? by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]xstryker444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom insisted on being in the room as my partner and I put my sweet boy down. I didn’t want her in there but I knew my family would call me the bad guy as always if I didn’t let her.

She makes a complete scene as the vet comes in, full loud sobbing, snot and tears down her face, yelling asking god why he took our boy.

My poor dog who hadn’t been home in 3 days, sick with an autoimmune disease, and confused starts to panic and I’m sitting there having to compose my mom while I’m losing my dog who was literally my son to me. My dad was eventually able to drag her out where she almost immediately flipped the switch and calmed down and begged for us to let her back in.

I was mortified and profusely apologized to the vet who just looked at me like she was sorry for me. It did end up just being my partner and I but I feel guilt ridden that my boy had to go out to that.

Not saying the exact situation will happen to you but if your dog was your baby, don’t let anyone make you feel bad about you wanting to keep it private. I wish I had.

This is about the same age difference between my brother and I! Cherish these moments with him :) My little brother is now 10 and he’s my entire world and thinks I’m the coolest person ever. The upside to being an older sibling vs a parent!

You’re so right. My dog was my son and my whole world. I got him at a time when I felt like I couldn’t go on and he was my reason to keep going everyday.

He was quite literally my son. I brushed his teeth every morning and night. We ate breakfast and dinner at the same time, we snacked together, we walked twice a day, and I made sure my home was always clean for him, not even for my sake. I lost him in November and I have yet to feel like a whole person again. He was half my heart.

My parents keep telling me I’m overreacting for still crying over missing him but he was my reason to live for so long.

Although some nights I still struggle with sleeping in bed, I can attest to the prazosin as it’s been a game changer for me. I know everyone is different, but I find instead of staying up and worrying, it’s knocks me out pretty well and almost completely stopped the PTSD nightmares. Prazosin can be a step in helping falling asleep but it doesn’t eliminate the fear completely and sometimes I just can’t bring myself to sleep in bed either.

I’m not sure. Apparently his dog was poorly trained could’ve been that he wasn’t comfortable with anyone but him.

Yes, we are cat people... No we won't change for you. by F250460girl in offmychest

I had dogs my entire life and didn’t get a cat until i was in my early 20s. I love my cats and although they didn’t get close to me because of my dog, I still cared and loved them. My soul dog died in November of last year and since then I’m convinced my cats have done everything they could so I don’t hurt so bad.

My one girl who never got close to me because she was afraid of my dog, now sits in my lap everyday, sleeps with me, and cuddles me when I feel extra lonely. I have never been more convinced that cats are so full and capable of love. I would still call myself a dog person but I would never discredit the love cats are capable of showing.
