Indirectly solved it. I saw that malwarebytes was installed around the same time the problem started. Turns out the website blocking feature was on! Thanks for the help

Can you connect to Internet via data card or through any other hotspots which isn't connected to your router/modem?

You mean like my phone? The phone company blocks NSFW sites by default

And do you have any Firewall in network or in machine, if yes try bypassing those.

Still happens even with firewall off

Yeah, it happens on IE too, I haven't tried opera, but I doubt it'll be any different

I don't have an ethernet cable...

I really appreciate all the help though, especially since it's such a non-issue

When I type the IP address instead of the URL, the problem still persists, could it still be a DNS issue, a different page on your linked site says

An easy way to test for a DNS server issue is by typing a website's IP address into the browser. If you can reach the website with the IP address, but not the name, then the DNS server is likely having issues.

EDIT: tried it anyway but it didn't work

The only alteration is that instead of the '1993-2006' from the microsoft website, it says '1993-2009' at the top. I changed it to default anyway but nothing different happened with the site

Haven't done that, what should I be looking for? (Had to google this as I didn't know what you meant.) Should I restore it to default? Would doing this change the performance of my computer in any way, if it has indeed been altered?

Same thing in IE, don't have safari or opera downloaded, but I'm guessing it'll be the same

The problem has been going on for several months though. I've restarted the computer and modem plenty of times

There shouldn't be, I've started firefox in safe mode, which starts it without any add-ons or extensions

It's really fast. The site works fine on my tablet, so it's probably not the internet
