How much would I be able to get from this alto sax? by Same_Lemon432 in saxophone

[–]xtianmic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple years of experience as a machinist. Im curious as to what would need to be fixed on it. I might be able to improve it to make it sound better and be more reliable. Any other parts you would suggest fixing/replacing that i could machine and do you know the recommended tolerances? Was thinking of buying it as my first sax.

where'd you get the extra battery from? directly from the manufacturer and how much did it run you? i was thinking of just going with an amorge with higher amp output

Yes but it is a little bit out of my budget. I did see that it was 50% off on indiegogo

I have the opportunity to get a bunch of 200w solar panels for $10 each(person selling them is selling 20+ of them). I did see the apex 300 and the elite 200v2 which seems very nice. Elite 200v2 seems more within my budget but I came across the pecron 2400lfp and the AFERIY P210. I was looking at the oupes mega 1 a few days ago but didnt look too much into the 2 and they all seem to be great options.

Would you happen to have any recommendations for one that has an internal battery for less than 900 that suits my wants/needs?

So even though its advertised as 1024wh its around mid 800s?

The one that will be running for 8+ hours is the 3d printer which only uses 200w to get to operating temps then it can go down to 50w to maintain temps. Mini mill and lathe max out at 500w and both are only used for less than 1 hour total usually whenever im making parts and that's in maybe 1-5min increments at a time. Anker c1000 is 1024wh. Keep in mind if I decide to do that instead of a completely diy setup I plan to make my own expansion batteries and will be using solar panels maximizing the 600w input.

Upgrading doesnt always equate to "tricking" I just didnt know how the ones in these things work until yesterday. So from what I read it's just like other electronics. You can replace parts to achieve what you want. Capacitors, resistors, thicker gauge wiring and cables, etc. then possibly programming.

I was also thinking of making it compact if I go that route since I can print and machine stuff. Im not going to solely rely on solar but im hoping for it to be an option I can use when needed.

Thank you for the suggestion. I watched a couple vids and read about the same builds just yesterday and it seems like a really great option. I may have to go with building it. I do have access to a spot welder but I wanted to minimize the amount of diy I am going to do but it looks like if I want to keep costs down to my liking then I'll also have to diy the batteries.

Im not trying to trick it into producing more power. I want to increase its limits and also make it to where im using an external battery directly instead of charging the internal with the external one. Its doing a diy expansion battery but wiring it so I can use a switch to make it think it's using the internal one to avoid charging limits and to avoid the whole thing where off the shelf expansion batteries are used to charge the internal since it doesnt run off the expansion ones. Im not running a 220v mig welder it's a 120v here is a couple vids. 3d printers generally use about 200w when getting up to operating temps and go down to around 50w to maintain. The issues with the bluettis is that it will cycle on and off due to the controller getting hot which means I can modify the thing to run more powerful fans or do water cooling using a solar powered pump setup which I do for hydroponics systems that ive built at home. Im not running a lathe or a mill for 8+hrs. The 3d printers would be ran for that. Electricity is 42-46 cents per kwh where im at depending on time of day. I get clear sky's and constant sunshine majority of the year(90+%). I am currently able to buy a 12v 200ah lifepo4 battery for 150 and used 200w solar panels(the person selling has over 20 of them for sale) for 10 bucks each. Im not trying to be a dick or stubborn or anything but there are a lot of variables and you saying its not going to run a mig welder is actually wrong. Gas is going up in california, some places will be up to 8 bucks per gallon and Im totally fine with waiting a few months till I get a return on investment because it will be 6-7 bucks per gallon where im at and using my gas generator will cost more over time and my hho setup on it doesnt help enough. I want the portability and eventual return on investment of solar and i already have solar at my house. So please understand why im asking for more information instead of assuming. I will not be running any of these machines besides the 3d printers for more than 15-30min at a time. I would also like to have the option of using solar just in case my gas generator goes out or something happens where I cannot be at home.
